6060 Great Northern Polar Pal Block Ice Shaver and Snow Cone Maker

I want to say I purchase this machine in 2018. It has worked like a work horse. Very reliable. We have used it for our business for our travel events. We have served well over 2000 people with this machine and I can 't count how many events we have done. We sharpen the blade 1x a year and lube the thing on the top. This shaver is awesome. We have just purchased another one to do more events. To make the molds just buy the hard gallon containers that are suggested. It is so easy to use. We put each mold in a gallon freezer ziplock bag. It is so easy. Great Northern this shaver is well designed and we love the safety features. We bought a pedal for easier operation. Thank you and look for to another many years with our second shaver.

this machine is exactly what I was looking for. it uses a block of ice (find or purchase separately a small food service bucket) the shaver is adjustable and creates truly shaved ice. the price was in line with other machines. the one thing that I was not ready for was the size. another brands machine was less than half this size, it does not fit well on kitchen counters - especially if the are cabinets above (usually the cabinets are set half back from the front of counter) with the depth and height of this machine it just doesn't fit on that type of counter. a kitchen island, breakfast area are super for it though. (just be sure you have the power needed). other counters with out cabinets above should be ok as well. this produces a fine shaved ice that does not have the grit or crunch of crushed ice. its what all snow cones should be. lot's also perfect for slushes and frozen drinks.

This machine is sturdy and blades adjust to make coarse to very fine shaved ice. Only problem I have is that some ice shoots away from the pan underneath which is meant to catch the shaved ice. I need to move the pan to catch the stray ice while it is being shaved. Otherwise, great machine.

I have this sitting on my open concept kitchen bar in the middle of the room, visible from the front door. It is HUGE. Doesn't go with anything. But I have shaved ice any time I want (which is several times a week). 4lb potato salad tubs make good round ice blocks, but it's not real picky. I have a variety of drink syrups in cheap squeeze bottles in the fridge (melts less if they're cold), and I have found that various flavors of schnapps also make good syrups. Blade is really adjustable to make ice as fluffy or gritty as you like. Not horribly heavy, so when we can get together more safely I can take it with to summer events. Until then, I'm perfecting recipes. Definitely recommend, if you have room.

Horrible product, within 4 uses the cord melted from the inside out. Unfortunately we didn’t notice it until we pulled it out of the box (in which is was sealed in a bag and packed with foam) to use 6 months later and neither Amazon or the manufacturer is willing to make it right. Manufacturer also no longer has a valid phone line to take Customer phone calls so you are limited to only dealing with them via email and all they do is point you to buying a new crappy product.

This machine does its job well. It makes true shave ice - fluffy, snow-like ice, not the chunky, crunchy ice found in typical snow cones. THE ONLY PROBLEM I'VE FOUND IS THAT EVERY TIME I OPEN OR CLOSE THE ICE SHIELD DOOR, IT HITS AGAINST THE BLADE ADJUSTMENT KNOB, AND ONE MUST LIFT THE DOOR UP AND OVER THE KNOB TO COMPLETELY OPEN OR CLOSE THE DOOR. THIS IS ANNOYING BUT NOT DIFFICULT, HOWEVER, THE REPEATED, FORCED MISUSE OF THE DOOR WILL SOON RESULT IN THE DOOR BREAKING OFF FROM IT'S THIN PLASTIC HINGES, RENDERING THE MACHINE INOPERABLE. THE SOLUTION: THE COMPANY SHOULD PROVIDE A SMALLER DIAMETER BLADE ADJUSTMENT KNOB WHICH WOULD PREVENT THE ICE SHIELD DOOR FROM MAKING CONTACT WITH IT.

Kids were so excited when this machine arrived today... however after opening the and reviewing the machine it appears we got sent a used unit... there was black marks on the machine and from the inside there was left over orange stain.... and the wire behind the machine seems to be falling apart with the copper wires being revealed... I'm not sure why Amazon didn't do a quality check before sending out this machine.

This machine is great and the shaved ice it makes is amazing. It is a bit larger than I expected, but regardless I would definitely buy it if you want great shaved ice. Now the reason I gave three stars is because the unit had several scuff marks and the cord has exposed wiring from a lot of movement(of it being used.) So as of right now I feel like I got a used machine that was returned. I contacted support to see if they could send me a new power cord to replace the damaged one.
