A healthy replacement for solvent/ oil stains for me.
I'm replacing my solvent stains with water stains for health reasons. I was a bit doubtful having used oils and alcohol stains for over 40 years.This product worked well. It's not going to work like the oil stains, but once you get the hang of it, it is fine. Client never even knew. And I'm healthier for using it now in my senior years.

used on maple
I used this on maple. I had to put on a prestain treatment before using to get an even coverage. With out the prestain it was spotty. Project came out perfect.

Finishing is the weakest part of my game and I have repeatedly struggled getting good results with stains. Tried this dye and I will never go back to stain. Excellent results. Beautiful grain relief with no blotchiness. I mixed a 7 orange:3-4 medium brown ratio and it produced a very nice, warm tone. Once fully dried, I have not had any issues top coating with poly or lacquer. .
