It's good but
For beginners: Just go for it. It is perfect.For recordists and music producers: Actually, getting good sound out of it can be a challenge. It can sound harsh and muddy. However, if you're a recordist like me, you can achieve decent sound in your tracks by experimenting with picks, mic positions, and, most importantly, changing the strings. The strings that come with it are terrible. I purchased D'Addario mandolin strings to replace them.Another thing I've noticed is its intonation. It was completely off. However, you can adjust its intonation since it has a floating bridge. It took me an hour to change the entire string set and another hour to set the bridge in the right position. But the results are amazing, especially considering the price point.
