This versatile shoe laces to the toe for a secure fit while scrambling, smearing, or gearing up for a hike. Innovation and tradition share equally deep roots at SCARPA, a muti-generational, family-owned business whose headquarters and manufacturing facilities are in the same region of northern Italy where it was founded in 1938. SCARPA builds performance footwear for climbing, hiking, skiing, mountaineering, trail-running and other outdoor pursuits. Aside from being the Italian word for "shoe," SCARPA is an acronym for Societa Calzaturiera Asolana Riunita Pedemontana Anonima (Associated Shoe Manufacturing Company of the Asolo Mountain Area).

My new faves
These are my new favorites now that 5.10 changed the design of their Camp 4 shoe so radically. I wore Camp 4 shoes for years. I do a lot of hiking using approach shoes, a minimum of 12 miles a week and usually much more than that. I typically keep a second clean pair for everyday wear since they are so comfortable and I get to wear casual clothes to work every day. I especially lke the lacing system on these shoes. Easy to snug them up, easy to dial in just the right amount of tightness across the various parts of the foot. The top eyelets are lined with a slippery plastic donut which prevents the problem of metal eyelets wearing down until a sharp edge cuts the laces, which is an issue that plagued the Camp 4 and also the Salewa shoes I tried.Hghly recommended

Awesome Shoe!
I bought these to replace a pair of 3 year old Scarpa Crux shoes (a previous green model) because I loved them so much! I used them on rough climbing approaches every weekend for 3 years, that's over 150 climbs. And finally the soles are too thin now and holes are appearing in the uppers. Here is why I Loved them: They are super light weight. They are super durable, they feel like you're wearing pillows from the first day you wear them to the last, and the best reason, they smear unbelievably and grip like my sportiva climbing shoes on any rock. My only complaint is that they were weak on edging because the soles had a severe edge bevel design that lacked support. But now I have the new Crux's and they edge way better because they altered the design and they are still exceptional in all other categories. These are hands down the best approach shoes I have ever owned.

I rate this SCARPA shoe a Strong BUY.
Pros:- The fit is the best part about these shoes. They have immedietly become my GO-TO pair of kicks- sooo comfortable, not due to super cushioning, but because SCARPA makes them feel as if they are molded to my feet.- The materials used are top notch and I can tell they are very durable. Excellent suede leather upper and sticky vibram rubber soles... great gripping power!Cons:- The suede might be harder to keep clean in the long term.

Love these... super comfortable!!
I love these shoes!! I bought the Mojito's a few months later and I can say after owing both. These feel better on my feet. I wear the Mojito's out because they are so stylish looking but these are the shoes I wear to work every day because they don't hurt my feet after standing/walking hours on end. I gave the Mojito's 4 stars and these 5.

GREAT FOR OVER 6 MONTHS NOW..
They make just about every shoe in China now, I used to always buy 5.10's guide tennie, which was made in america.. until about a year ago. And now they aren't worth the 160 bucks that they are anymore from the recent reviews. So I needed a solid shoe, for more than just approach. As in, a 'do it all' approach shoe that you could wear nearly all the time. These fit the bill, and have replaced the 5.10 for me. I've had them for 6 months so far an they still look great, despite the everyday torture.

Can't find a single fault to moan about
Been wearing these for hiking around as well as on my mountain bike for near on a year now. Love 'em, in fact I think they are more comfortable than my FiveTens which I always thought were the bees knees.I will say that they are fit better all round except that the length is a little long compared to the FiveTens. Not enough to bother me while wearing but it is a noticable difference between the brands.

These are really comfortable and perfect for both urban and rural use
I am leery moving to a new brand of shoes, but Scarpa has twice made a believer out of me. These are really comfortable and perfect for both urban and rural use; I walk several miles up-hill to get to work downtown, and I hike up the canyons near my house.

... boots two years ago and they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned
Got a pair of Scarpa hiking boots two years ago and they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. I needed some new shoes and found these. Just got them today but have been wearing them since I opened the package and although they are narrower than the boots, the lace to toe enables my hobbit wide foot to fit well. They do still fit snug like climbing shoes but I expected that since they are ascent shoes. Not quite as cushiony as the hiking boots but I expected that too. They're still comfortable and so far are great shoes. Will update after I've tried them out for real.
