This tool is marginally better than using a knife... Don't think for a second that your garlic chopping needs will be covered by this product, because they won't. What happens is, you smash the garlic through the little holes, and then all of it gets gunked up on the other side where it comes out. This means you have to take a knife and scrape/cut all the garlic off from the bottom of the tool. Not only that, there is a thin layer of mashed garlic that is left on the top side of the grill holes, and you also have to scrape that out with a knife, and then chop it up because it didn't get diced through the holes...What is the point? I have to use a knife for 2 steps of the process when using this thing, so I may as well just use the knife to begin with.

Got for a gift, was not impressed for the.price.

I have not used another garlic press to compare this one to, but this one seems a little awkward to use. The bottom of the part with the holes (basket) has domed out, preventing the flat plunger from squeezing out all the garlic placed in the little basket. Garlic squeezes out from the gaps around the unit as well. The garlic that does make it through the little holes is nice and creamy smooth. I do like the wood handles and stainless steel, I just wished the unit worked better.

Works pretty well. It is necessary to scrape off minced garlic as it tends to stick in the press. Otherwise works well.

Nice wooden handles, but it doesn't work,half of the garlic stays in the chamber,I don't even want to talk about what does with ginger,you have to scrap the rest out,it's a mess! You mind as well just use a knife and a cutting board,less of a hassle.

Ugh. Really regret this purchase. Would rate one star but handles are pretty. Hard to use and the little insert that holds the garlic pops out every time I use it....into raw cooking chicken, sauces, marinades, etc. Super annoying.

I like the premise the the tool. The major issue here is that mine didn't sit flush once pressed which resuled in alot of incredrients not being pressed down or running through.

I can't imagine life without this thing now that I have it. It's so sturdy, and I love that you can remove the press part for special care and washing. As a college student, it makes me feel like a real adult to have one of these. You should get one too. It will change your life.
