Quality vice, no lateral play.
I hated the lateral play in another 4” drill press vice I purchased. I didn’t think that low price had to mean non-functional. So I bought this one as a last chance before upping my budget. This is exactly what I need and was hoping for. No slop, accurate and precise. Sturdy and level. Perfect for my Vevor bench top press. If I need a 4” I will certainly purchase its big brother.

Worth the money. Perfect fit on a Harbor Freight Chicago Machinery 10 inch 12 speed drill press
This vise fits the Harbor Freight Central Machinery 10 inch, 12 speed bench drill press perfectly. I used 3/8” carriage screws, washers, and nuts to hold it securely. I haven’t had a chance to drill with it yet, but it is very useful, doesn’t weigh a ton, looks reasonably durable, and is very adjustable when you use the table slots on the drill press. I will be using it for holding pen stock, wood, flat bar stock, angle iron, square tubing, or solid square stock when drilling. Be careful with where you drill because the drill bit could penetrate the press. The clamping force looks strong. My only suggestion would be to improve the opening/closing handle by making it a slide rod like other vises have.

Sturdy but Needs Some Muscle
I bought the WEN Drill Press Vise, 3-Inch for a few projects around my shop and so far, it’s been a solid performer with a minor hiccup. It does its job of holding materials securely, which is crucial for precise drilling. The cast iron construction indeed adds stability, and I've been able to grip woods, metals, and plastics without any issues. The vise fits well on my drill press table, and the four onboard mounting slots make fastening it down a straightforward process. The universal design seems to hold true as it paired well with my drill press, no compatibility issues there. Now onto the hiccup - opening and closing the vise has been a bit of a chore. Even after applying lubrication, it still requires a good amount of effort to adjust. It's not a deal-breaker, but it does slow down the process a bit, especially when I am working on projects that require frequent adjustments. The 3-inch jaws have a decent opening width, and the 1-inch throat depth has been adequate for my needs. I haven’t run into any issues with the size or the holding capacity of the vise.

I've got dimensions!
The Wen 3" drill press vise is pretty good quality, plenty good for home use. While not quite perfect, there are no obvious flaws in the casting for example. The machining seems good, the finish seems good. The overall size not counting the handle is 5.5" x 6" x 1.875". the center to center spacing of the mounting slots is 4 3/8", the slots are 7/16" wide, the total length of the slots is 5". The jaws are 7/8" x 3 1/4" and they open to about 2 7/8". As others have said it fits nicely on a craftsman 8" drill press. It does not have center grooves in the jaws, but I tried clamping several different pieces and it gripped everything I gave it very well. There is just the right amount of left to right play in the moving jaw that it can grip the whole way across the work piece. It does what I need and it doesn't take up a ton of space. I am happy with this item.

3" fits my 8" harbor freight and the price is right
The 4" are too big for my 8" harbor freight drill press, so the 3" was, almost, perfect. I only paid $80 on closeout for the drill press so couldn't justify getting a $40-$50 vise, so the price was this one's best feature. Works well. The only problem was the set screw that holds the main screw to the clamp loosened, so the whole main screw came out. Easy fix with some thread lock.

Quality
Really good vise except for the adjustment screw. It is very rough I worked it back and forth several times and finally greased it to make it usable. I don't think it's going to last very long. I'm going to use it and then I'll give another review The vise body is very good. It's a shame that more attention wasn't given to the screw.

It's made for the low end. Can't argue with the price point. Don't expect it to work or survive out of the box however. Needed some serious work to get functional, shims, squaring up, machining, deburring, etc. I'm not surprised many have reported cracks and catastropic failures. The packaging it not thick enough to prevent the most energetic of delievery people. It might be fine to journey to a hardware store, but probably not this complicated logistical chain of delivery. Not surprised there are cracks in a decent amount. Dropping this box would definitely cause a crack.
