Always a great movie

This is a great movie to watch anytime and I watched it with my granddaughter and she loved it too

Classic!

Wanted to watch this classic movie and Amazon has it for the best price and easiest rental service.

For anybody who wants to know what their grandparents (or great-grandparents) did for fun in boring old public high school, watch this film. It was already a period piece when it came out in the late 1970's, and watching it again made me realize how much the life of young people in the United States has changed, and yes, still stayed the same. Based on the hit Broadway musical of the same name, Grease is the story of a group of teenaged friends during their senior year at a California high school; girls yearn after boys, boys look their coolest best to impress the girls, hot rods are super fast (kinda) and there's plenty of jitterbug dancing and rock 'n roll music to fuel it along. Sandy and Danny meet during the summer, part company then find out she's transferred to his school. Shall he admit his love or impress the guys with his machoness? Kinnikie and Rizzo have a hot date "parking". Is she pregnant? The whole school thinks so the next day. Frenchie drops out of school to be a beautician. Is it the right move? The rival gang challenges our heros to a race for "pinks". (If you've seen the Fast and Furious movies you know what that is, but I bet some of you didn't know that practice was so OLD.) Can this stuff possibly be entertaining? YES. It's not the situations but the carefree, fun cast that make this movie fun to watch, and turned it into a classic. John Travolta as Danny is young, sexy, and can he dance. He's a fine actor, and plays the role with just the right tounge-in-cheek seriousness. Olivia Newton-John is beautiful as Sandy, and what a set of pipes. The hit "Hopelessly Devoted to You" was written expecially for her to perform in this film, it was not part of the Broadway score. Also written just for her was the great finisher, "You're The One That I Want". I've seen the original Broadway musical and there was a lot more great rock 'n roll sounding songs and more dance numbers, but the humor and personality of the characters make this film move. Those of us who watched prime time TV in the 1950's will love the cameos by period TV stars in roles as teachers, principals, angels and DJ's.

Great movie at a good price. Brought back a bunch of happy memories!!!

Además contiene los mejores momentos de la Fiesta de lanzamiento del 25 aniversario, entrevistas a John Travolta y Olivia Newton-John y cuatro reportajes.La peli está totalmente remasterizada con muchos extras, por lo que creo que para alguien que guste de los musicales (incluso a los que no le gusten mucho como es mi caso), les encantará esta película. Probablemente la haya visto unas 15 veces, pero es de estas películas que nunca te cansas de verlas y siempre la disfrutas como si fuera la primera vez. Muy recomendable.
