Perfect for me
I’m gonna start by saying, if you’re looking for a heavy, powerful, brute of an electric bike, this isn’t it. Which is exactly what I didn’t want. The heavy duty fat tire e-bikes are just too large and cumbersome for me. I wanted an e-bike that feels like a normal bike. I’m not a daily commuter. My needs are for campgrounds and joyrides. This bike is it.Assembly wasn’t difficult but would’ve been much easier had I watched Schwinns assembly video first. The instruction manual is generic for all their bike models so some things aren’t explained in detail. I enjoy assembling things so it wasn’t a bad experience for me.Power. This bike has sufficient power for me. I’m 145lb and 5’6” (XS/S bike- perfect size for me w/seat all the way down). So far I’ve put about 2 miles just driving around my property (only on rolling hills, grass, and gravel terrain) and this bike supports me wonderfully. Did I experience some lagging going up hill, yes, but I was also figuring out the pedal assist levels and gears. Once I figured out the bike and became comfortable, I was able to use the pedals/power more efficiently when ascending. My husband (210-ish maybe?) couldn’t get it to climb the first time he rode it, however he is use to just hitting the throttle on his himiway and accelerating.I feel like I will probably be attaching our daughters trailer to the husbands himiway before I attach it to the schwinn simply because of the battery power.Schwinn customer service: I contacted schwinn prior to purchasing to get some specs to make a decision. Jasmine, the Schwinn associate for e-bikes, was wonderful before purchase and post-purchase. I was happy to be able to speak to someone about service and parts. I did order a larger battery from Schwinn that I’m excited to receive.

Horrible fit and terrible customer service
I bought from Schwinn because of their reputation. I am 5'6" with average build and I can not reach the pedals from the lowest setting on their S/M bike even despite being well within their height range for the bike. I called and asked if perhaps they shipped the wrong seat pole with the bike and their customer service was rude and dismissive. They eventually agreed to send a new seat and pole but I only got the pole. I called Schwinn again and was told that my only option on a $2000 bike was to see if I could find an after market seat that would work better. Even after I explained that even my 6' son found the seat too high. Customer service said "everybody is built differently". So unless you have the legs of someone who is taller than about 6'2" DON'T buy this bike as you will have a headache dealing with having to return it or spending even more money because their engineers don't know how to adjust for people's height. It's very pretty though. I hate to have to return it but it is unsafe the way it is.

One of the best e-bikes after 10 years and 4 other ebikes. Top quality features
Works very well out of box , but have a bike shop do final ajustments and test ride, its well worth it. Have 2 other ebikes currently from R.E.I and Raleigh ,but been ebike riding since 2010. Have one mid drive and other rear drive like this one, but like the Throttle and ride feel on this Coston CE Schwinn is much better. Very well built. Size chart maybe wrong got the small-medium just fits, I'm 6 foot/ 31" inseam guy so you may need a extra small for extra room. Can go about 25-30 miles on a charge( has a 8 amp hrs battery which is smaller than some) with a 240 lbs guy on it, you might get more or less. Color is Awesome in metalic Red and feels sturdy. I'm a retired Bike Mechanic, and this Schwinn Coston CE with front shock under $ 1000.00, rides much better than my $ 2200.00 R.E.I City 2.2 mid drive with 700c 45mm tires. The 2.6" Wide tires are very nice on gravel/street and love the hi quality all metal but quiet fenders Faster than I thought with 27.5 x 2.6 ( almost fat tires). Overall, a Great quailty in town/trail or Commuter with up to 20 mph speed really AND Throttle. Get the extended battery ( about 400.00 or less) if traveling more than 25 mile round trip, but charges pretty fast. Great Job Schwinn . paid under 1k at Amazon and worth every penny, compared to over 20 ebikes I've tested and rented since working for a bike shop, here in The Bay Area for Over 6 years. Top Schwinn model and Fun on the Run at a great price..Jay

Excessive pedal assist
The pedal assist works great at level 1 but continues to thrust for a second after you stop pedaling. It does ride very smooth and did not need pedal assist unless it was a steep uphill. The mechanical brakes are not very responsive, see other reviews. You will need to learn to slow down in anticipation of a stop. The height is another thing. I was not able to find the bike measurements. So I found a small/medium bike in a store, I am 5ft 6inches tall, and it was too big (tall). The small/xtrasmall was the perfect fit, 26 inch wheels. I only had the choice of red but it is a very nice frosty red, like candy to the eyes. The lights work well. I have not taken it for a long ride so I cannot comment on the battery life but I plan to buy a larger battery if it runs out too quick. The overall price was good. It did arrive with bent rear fender forks but was able to straighten them out to look decent. Assembly was quick and easy but had to use my own tools. The tools supplied are no good.
