Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X10 Video Editing Suite for PC (Old Version)

i really enjoy this program. first its interface is very easy to follow and pick up. very intuitive. also,, i was looking for a program that did live screen recording. so as to make speed painting videos on youtube. i made the mistake of ordering movavi screen recording program., and for 30 dollars thats all the program did, was record, and when i tried to upload the videos to a video editing software, it would be all distorted. so huge waste of money on movavi program. but luckily this program does both, now i screen record with this program and edit it directly in the same program. add music tracks, add voice over by mic. and speed up the video for the speed painting effect. all in all a great program and worth the money. im just learning basics so far, but already picking up a lot the first night. love this program would recommend to any digital artists trying to record their creative process. also note, i received no compensation from corel, i paid my own money for this, and am glad i did.

I've only installed Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X10, but let me tell you, that installation was crazy difficult. I'm one of the 25% of Americans that have a slow internet connection. I think sometimes corporations forget about those of us with the skinny pipeline. During the installation process this program insisted on downloading about half a gigabyte of something. I had to cancel the install the first time around, and then I restarted it that night so that we'd have SOME internet access that day. Good grief. The last version I owned was Corel Video Studio Ultimate X7. One huge bug in the program throughout the versions was it could not complete a job if it was in the neighborhood of 90 minutes or more of video. I hope this version can handle that...

Based upon some of the other reviews, I was very hesitant to order this product. When I installed it, I only enabled the main software and made sure not to install any freeware of service packs. Whenever I open the software it does ask if I want to upgrade to the newest version - but that's it. No issues at all with malware/spyware etc. As far as the functionality and user friendliness, it's great. I have never used a photo/video editor, and within 30 minutes I cobbled together a quick video complete with inserted photos, videos, and soundtrack. I'm sure that the software is capable of far more spectacular results, but I am very happy with it. Later, when I had some more time to devote, I was able to create a 25 minute video complete with an introduction page, about 60 photos and a dozen videos - and five songs to makeup the soundtrack. I am running the software on a laptop with an Intel i5 processor and 8 GB RAM. I have had no issues with lockups. When I composed the 25 minute video, it took about a half hour to complete the process - so I ate dinner. All in all, very happy and have recommended to friends.

I ordered this last week. Spent almost 3 hours trying to load it onto my computer. It takes a long time to load, so I left the room to go do other things, came back a half hour later, and the computer appeared to be frozen. It has no visual display to tell you where it is in the setup process, i.e. "5 more minutes", "1 hour to go", "25% completed", etc., etc., so you have no idea where you are in the setup process. My computer, which I bought brand new about 3 years ago, seemed to go to sleep a few times. I rebooted my computer several times. I had to uninstall and attempt to reinstall it. Finally thought I got it installed, and it appears not to work without an internet connection. Kept getting error messages when not connected to the internet, about having to shut down the program, but when connected to the internet, seemed to work fine. Right now, just waiting a week or two to calm down before I try to reinstall this program again. If I can't get it to work soon, will be chunking this. Was not interested in loading my personal videos on the internet to edit them, I just wanted something I could do simple video editing with on my computer, and this program so far has been a HUGE disappointment. If my experience changes, I will be updating this review. Perhaps I had a bad day? If not, I would say I do not recommend this product. Very difficult to install. Does not seem to work without internet connection.

I assume this is great for the price. It does everything I want. Some of the areas of opportunity: The install takes a very long time The playback in the software is extremely choppy. When you export it, it works fine. One of the main reasons I wanted Corel was to create some awesome bottom thirds. However I am unable to install Boris FX, Inc. I have done everything I could to get it installed but I can't get it to show in the filter section. I was hoping for more samples or templates to use Some of the things I like: Very easy to use and learn how to use Easy to create overlays Allows the use of multiple different types of video files

I purchased Corel Videostudio x10 Ultimate through Amazon. Prior to than I used Corel Videostudio x7 which stopped working for no apparent reason after 2 yrs. and also I've used Sony Vegas Movie Studio 13 Platinum. I am trying hard to like the new Corel Videostudio x10 Ultimate, but I can't. It "freezes up" or "hangs" EVERY 30 sec. no matter if I press "Pause" button or any .. any other place of it's screen layout. If you manage to create a clip and decide to "Share" it or render it, Corel "hangs" at 99% and doesn't finish it, although the project is completed on your hard drive or USB stick. Unbelievable and Very frustrating. When Corel "freezes" or "hangs" you can't close the program, unless you resort to Task Manager. I hope Corel Videostudio x10 developers will find a solution to this problem soon, otherwise the product is almost unusable. My computer is 2 months old and was built for video editing, Inter i7-6700k CPU @ 4.00Ghz, video card GTX 1060 6 Gb, 16 Gb RAM.
