Awesome-if you have hand issues or are craft challenged
I love it! I don't know why anyone would leave a negative review. I'm craft challenged but I have a lot of creative ideas and visions but my engineering of those ideas needs a lot of work! I was getting frustrated day after day practicing knotting and first time I used this so happy! I have issues with my hands too from repetitive strain injury which affects my strength and endurance over time which further complicates fine manipulation. This made it so much easier on my hands which frankly is important to me, even more so than having consistent knots. If I had to play devils advocate it is sort of light plastic. I would love to see a weighted model that sits securely in place. And if the manufacturer reads this review, that weighted model should have that grip stuff underneath it which makes it suction in place. Sort of like this craft size vice I have for drilling. Anyhow just an idea. I will happily use it until a heavier model comes available. If my story sounds at all like you I highly recommend this item! The directions were confusing but that's mainly because I don't read little diagrams well and I highly recommend watching the you tube video instruction which is very easy to see what is going on. As soon as you made one knot you will get it and Won't likely need the instructions anymore anyhow.

It does help with beading & knotting, but could use a little bit of improvement on the design & function.
I make & sell beaded & knotted accessories, but also have sensitive joints. I needed something to help with the knotting, so I could actually use my hands the next day. I found this crazy thing here, looked at many youtube videos on it & then gave it a try.I found it decently easy to use, after a bit of practice, & gets kind of addictive! The youtube videos make it look more complicated than it is. I find I use it for the reason I bought it, when my hands are fussy & sensitive.A few design issues: it's mostly hollow plastic & very lightweight, so it scoots around & tips over easily when in use (something I don't want to wrestle with in the middle of a beading/knotting project). The plastic hooked tab over the needle area seems like it could break somewhat easily, if tension were pulled on it wrong. The rounded "arm" across the top can get in the way. The hollow, hard plastic base clatters loudly (I'm sensitive to sharp sounds) when beads bum into it & could possibly scratch or chip some beads.I plan to add some weight to the underside (could easily fill it with plaster of paris), plus a grippy rubber base, to help keep it in one place, when it's being used. I glued a piece of soft fleece fabric to the top surface of the base, so beads don't clack, scratch or chip when they drop through. I use it, placed on a tilted topped drafting table, so it's tilted forward a bit, allowing the beads to slide forward, so I don't have to kinda reach inside or tip it forward to get to the knotted strand. For the price, it seems fine, after a bit of retrofitting. I think it could be fine tuned in some design & function areas, but it does help spare my fingers on sensitive hand days.

Wonderful
This is a great help for beginners and experienced users alike. It makes knotting beads very easy.It came with clear instructions on how to use it and you can find videos online showing how it works. It is a great addition to my jewelry making supplies. It did take a few tries to get the hang of it but once I did it was a breeze. The Beadalon Knot-A-Bead Tabletop Knotter Tool allows you to not only get even spacing between your beads but also place your knots exactly where you want them. With the Knot-A-Bead I was able to place my knots right next to me bead something that was very difficult to do because of the arthritis in my hands. If you are working with a lot of designs that involve bead knotting I would very highly recommend getting the Beadalon Knot-A Bead. I am so glad I purchased it.

It works, but pretty inconsistently...
I bought this product to make knotted prayer beads, and after watching a few YouTube videos I though it would make the process a lot easier for me. I've found though that because it is so lightweight that it is pretty unstable, and even with practice the knots came out rather inconsistent. I know there's a learning curve with any new tool but I found that the smaller handheld knotting tool is much easier for me. I get a similar knot every time with far fewer steps involved. I'd recommend getting that instead. I just don't think this is worth the expense.

Definitely Speeds up beading time!
I am going to order another one of these. I beaded a 30" necklace of semi precious beads within 2 hours, knotting between every bead. I would have never been able to do this myself. It was my first time ever beading a necklace so I might be a bit slow but this definitely made it faster. My friend who has more experience kept it because it worked so well so I will need to get another!

Inconsistent Spacing and Awkward Design
The knots made by the Beadalon Knot-A-Bead Tool are neat and evenly sized. The problem is that the tool itself is fussy to use, causing the spacing between knots to be very inconsistent. It is too light to provide enough resistance, does not have enough non-skid pads on the bottom, and is too short. After knotting about three inches of beads, I had to pick the tool up repeatedly to rearrange the string. Totally not worth it.
