Good for measuring long distances.
Accurate to about +/-2 inches. But if you carefully roll it to the start mark, reset to zero without picking it up, and continue to the finish mark, it is probably accurate to the larger of +/-0.5 inches or 0.1%. You can roll it backward to count back down if you overshoot the mark. Used it for finding survey markers outdoors over several hundred feet, and it was very useful. Occasionally failed to start counting after a reset, requiring a do-over. Would buy again.
