Product Description America's favorite fitness expert Denise Austin gets kids in shape with an energetic workout that is fun for kids of all ages! Starring 12 kids and using elements of dance, hip-hop, sports drills, yoga and stretching, this workout is a perfect way to encourage kids to keep moving and stay healthy. Set in Times Square, the combination of modern music, bright colors and fun steps makes FIT KIDS a great exercise routine that is so fun they'll want to do it over and over! .com With the goal to get kids moving, fitness expert Denise Austin leads preteens in a 20-minute total body workout incorporating elements of dance, hip-hop, sports drills, and yoga. It begins with a six-minute warm up of stretches and lunges, followed by seven minutes of cardio-funk, kick-boxing, and traditional aerobics. The program ends with a strengthening segment of push-ups, abdominal exercises, and beginning yoga. Effervescent Austin provides adequate verbal coaching to a dozen kids who perform the moves. This moderately fast-paced program assumes its participants are fairly fit at the onset and in only a few cases offers reduced levels of participation for varying abilities. No equipment is necessary and minimal space is required in this energetic option for general youth fitness. Dont miss the DVDs bonus episode, "Family Fit," a 20-minute workout designed for families to do together. It follows the same format as the "Fit Kids" routine, with the addition of a few exercises that require partnering for resistance training. One segment employs a basketball (or similar sized ball) which is the only equipment necessary. "Quality fitness, doing it together," is Austins peppy mantra, which results in a corny but clever way to get families off the couch. (Ages 8 and older) --Lynn Gibson

Good for the whole family
It’s a nice workout video for children and the whole family. I wish it was longer but it’s plenty long enough. The little ones said it got their heart rate up and that it was one of the easiest, most enjoyable workout videos they’ve done so far lol.

4 year olds love!
Appropriate levels of difficulty and cheerful encouragement. Just what I was looking for! The children in the video were a big plus to my kids!

Challenging But Good
I got this for my 6 year old niece who is a little heavy, but it's getting too hot to play outside or go to the park. My niece is coordinated and a good athlete but doesn't have any dance experience which made this DVD a little challenging for her.I always exercise with her and show her the steps she doesn't understand. I can't imagine her getting through this on her own. So if you use these for plug and play, where you want your kid to occupy themself without your help I could see problems. The pace is very, very fast and challenging for kids that don't have dance experience but the true test is if the kid likes it. And she did. There were a couple of giggle fits, and lots of laughing. She has about six videos so far, and though this was the toughest she liked it the most. There are some basic aerobic movements, but the majority of the first workout is simple dance steps. Then she combines movements where you have to string simple steps into three or four compound movements. It's basic dance. With everything we keep it simple, and keep it fun. As long as she's moving it's good. If you focus on your kid getting the steps perfect the first time you're going to feel dissapointed. If your kid gets frustrated easily you may want to pass on this one.If your kid has any dance experience at all, it will be lots of fun. Overall a great workout for kids, very challenging and introduces basic dance steps.

Awesome family workout!
This is a great workout for kids and their families to do together. I enjoy doing these exercises with the kids and Denise does an awesome job at explaining each step and encouraging everyone to keep going at your pace. The important thing is to keep up with and Denise does a fabulous job as always. I feel that she is one of the best fitness instructors you can use.

Great for challenging children
My two daughters (6 and 3) love doing this workout as part of their fitness rotation. It is challenging for them, but the 6-year-old is getting the hang of the moves and is inspired to incorporate them into her day. I'll see her doing some "cool moves" as they call them, while we transition activities, and before bed time. They also like seeing Denise Austin's two daughters in the video. We also enjoy doing the family workout.

Kids really enjoy it and it’s doable
Kids really enjoy it and it’s doable, not too long or drawn out, only drawback is that it isn’t intense at all, but overall very good

Not that kid friendly
I really didn't like that it had yoga in I didn't know it when I bought it but I would not have purchased this knowing it had yoga. Other than that Denise doesn't really seem very into it almost like she doesn't really know what to say to get kids motivated. The music is not upbeat AT ALL but very dull. My kids didn't even like it. I would recommend looking for something with more upbeat music so your kids will be more into it. This is not a good workout video!!!!

Great DVD
I bought this DVD for my kids as part of their home school physical fitness and it is my daughter favorite. She is ten, but I would say that anyone from 3 to adult could enjoy this DVD. It has two 20 minute workouts on it. Even my two year old hops around in the living room to this DVD. Its fun! I would buy it again.
