SHAKESPEAREAgility Spinning Reel and Fishing Rod Combo

So I have purchased 3 of these combos over the last two summers for inshore fishing in the Pamlico Sound. I was initially impressed with the first two, but after about a year I had two rod tips snap off this summer. The first my son broke when he got a lure stuck in a tree. Understandable. The second, about a month after the first one broke. I had just tied a lure on, and went to hook the lure to the hook holder on the rod, and poof, the tip snapped off. So then my third one that I had only purchased weeks earlier for another Pamlico trip. I had the rod sitting on the truck bed tying up, I grabbed the rod 26" from the tip to literally lift it a few inches to slide the combo closer to me, and poof! Snapped in half 26" from the end. Amazon refunded me the full price and I was able to keep the reel so I guess that's a win. But I can definitely say that I would no longer recommend these combos. Go with a Kastking or Ugly Stik. Not sure what's going on with the QC of these rods but I won't be fooled again. As for the reel, all 3 are still in great working condition besides being used almost exclusively in saltwater.

I like my GX2 Medium rod better. I got this for my kid. Since I already have one Medium I wanted one ultra light which though mainly is for my kid I too can use.The rod works fine; it does not seem be as sensitive as my GX2 despite that being a Medium rod.Quality is not as good. It works fine and the kid is enjoying using the rod.

19 trout and counting, the drag works great so far.

I like this combo only complaint I have is that the rod pieces don't fit together as well as they could (I cast the top half of my rod off only once luckily). It preforms well for the price and I have had fun using it.
