LINDY Security Screws for PC Cases

These are a cool little gadget that can help you secure the hardware inside your computer. My case has a glass side on it and I rent a cubicle in a public office. So people can see the expensive hardware inside. I was able to lock the case to the desk with a cable and a lock, but couldn't figure out how to secure access to the case itself, until I found these.The outer part of these screws rotates freely (like a bearing) around the inner part of the screw. Meaning, you cannot unscrew these by griping the outside base. Only the inner cylinder will cause the screw to rotate in or out. So it would be nearly impossible to unscrew it by hand. A person would need pliers or the special tool to unscrew the inner dial.Granted, it's not 100% secure, but it makes breaking into your computer case much more difficult—and with most thieves, a little deterrence is all you need.

In the wild, only the slowest gazelle is taken by the lion.I was attending a LAN event and I was taking some measures to not be the easiest target in the hall.These screws will thwart the vast majority of opportunistic thieves who don't have the privacy available to defeat them.They don't appear to be securely keyed, so anybody who has bought a set can apparently open anybody elses secured with them, but that's the gamble, you spend on security against the perceived risk and consequence of loss.For the money, these provide excellent defense for the gazelle who doesn't want to be slowest.For the record, nobody stole my stuff, but plenty of other people got robbed. I'm a sucker for the placebo effect and I convince myself that some robbing urchin cried when he saw my security screws!

Im so upset with this product. When I first recieved the screws I immediately used them to replace the existing screws on my case. everything was fine and I was happy, until I tried unscrewing one of the screws a week later only to find that the threaded shaft of the screw had not only broke in half, but now one half of the screw is permanently stuck in my case's screw hole. See photos attached. DO NOT PURCHASE.EDIT: received a very nice call from Lindy regarding my order, they issued a full refund and even offered some advice on how to get the broken screw out of the hole. adjusted my rating accordingly
