Better than I imagined
Very nicely made and finished. I put a small square on the solid jaw and it looks fine. Time will tell but so far I’m impressed. I think it will be fine for my amateur shop

Dissapointed this is made too well.
Feb 24, 2020 UPDATE:Incredible. I had a chance to compare this to a r0hm vice and I can say this is a MUCH better purchase than r0hm. The competitor tries to fool you into thinking the inspection sheets mean something but most values were incorrect. How can I justify a purchase for a suburban/HermanSchmidt/etc when this vice can match the competition's precision at a quarter of their cost?sigh...I should be ecstatic but I'm baffled how it is possible to get such quality at this price. I was actually looking forward to grinding this in perfectly as I did with the ".0002" 1/8 parallels but now there's just an empty void.Dowel pin used for clamping is 6mm metricSocketCap screw requires a 5mm allen key

Don't overtighten
I like the product and I like the way Amazon does the return/warranty stuff...The part that holds the clevis is cast. It broke on me when I guess I overtightened. If this second one does the same, will make that part from cold rolled steel over the original cast part. If you are handy with this type of stuff no problem. Since most folks buying this have the knowledge to do that it should not be a problem. It holds well, no wiggle at all

Excellent Toolmaker's Vise
It does exactly what a Starrett does without the price tag.

Flat and parallel within .0002 as advertised.
Good value for the money. I would buy again.

Improperly ground channels, won't hold a part flat. Imprecise and inconsistently made
I bought 2 of these one of which didn't have the rear channel ground properly. I submitted a return/replace, received 2 replacements (Amazon error) and both of the replacement had poorly ground back channels as well. This vise as shipped can't hold a squared off part flat with ANY precision making it useless. I've added pictures to show how the channel pushes a part up when trying to clamp it. The quality control (3 out of 4 are bad) is not encouraging. Further more, the vises are all different lengths from the back edge of the vise to the channel, the holes on the sides for adding a stop are all over the place. Recommend spending the extra 20 bucks and getting a well made vise, these are garbage.

Way better than I thought
The media could not be loaded. I honestly thought I would have to regrind this square. Was very square and all surfaces were working a couple of tenths. Also my file slid right off... I'm guessing it's at least 46-48 RC. Overall I'm very happy with this product.

Read my short review on its quality
Here are some of the downsides that I have noticed:- If you are looking for a fair budget vise with a firm grip, I guess it's fine but you will need to be carefull each time you are putting tension on the Allen screw so not to break the essential ratnut which hold the subject being machined. The ratnut on mine broke at first use and I haven't put excessive torque on the screw.- The long lateral sides aren't perpendicular to the 2" fixed vise wall. I measured 0.005" difference on two vise samples. So one cannot use these sides as a refernce for squareness.- The whole horizontal dual bed surfaces (where the paralells sit) aren't flat, they wave. I measured ±0.0015" on one and the other had ±0.002" while measuring the difference (peak and valley) on the entire surface. So we are far from 0.0002" of their tolerance. This means that you cannot rely on your parallels, you will need ro re-validate the squareness on their bed surface.I'd rather call this a "precision style" vise, unreliable because it can break at anythime and it will have you loose some setup time trying to reach for squareness.

tightening bolt broke first use
Do not buy this product, the bolt underneath the vise which tightens the vise broke on first use. Once broken the unit is useless. Buyer beware.
