A great product and fabulous customer service!
I tried a lot of things to solve the mosquito problem on our patio, but this is the first one that actually worked, eliminating the "no-see-um" mosquitoes that have tormented me. I turn it on each morning while making coffee, then go out with the dog and set it on the floor at my feet, and enjoy God's beautiful creation. My legs used to be covered in bites, but no more. It has worked flawlessly for 4 years. It just stopped working so I called the company with the details and they said I did everything right and so they are sending me a replacement. I was blown away. It's 4 years old! Now that's great customer service. Highly recommended for anyone living in mosquito country.

Very effective repellent
I really like the Thermacell Fuel-ZoneGuard Base Patio Shield Mosquito Repeller. My yard is absolutely infested with mosquitoes, and this is honestly the only thing I’ve found that makes a noticeable difference. It’s very effective at creating a comfortable area where I can actually enjoy being outside without constantly getting attacked by mosquitoes. I also love that it’s scent-free, because there’s no strong or unpleasant smell like you get with some bug sprays or repellents. It’s easy to use, provides great coverage, and has made spending time in my yard so much more enjoyable. If you’re dealing with a serious mosquito problem and want an alternative to spraying yourself with bug repellent, I definitely recommend giving this a try. It has been a game changer for my outdoor space!

An Intetesting device
I am stocked to be able to have a device to rid my garden of mosquitos this summer. While I am not sure of its capacity to clear my whole patio its a small device that I can carry around with me as I work and not worry about getting bitten. Its light weight and seems powerful. The drawback is the refill requirements. Having to get more refill mats and fuel for the cartridge seems like more work than what I am looking for. It works for 12 hrs. So I am hoping that I can use it several time and just turn it on/off and not have to bother with replacements for a while. I prefer to use this than spraying my self from head to toe or carrying around a pail of water for Summit Mosquito Dunks

It works great!!
It works! I am a buffet for mosquitoes, bugs etc and I do Not get bit at all with this running. I have used it at my camper on the river and also home. Wish the refills were a little cheaper but it is well worth the investment.

Works but doesn't last as long as advertised.
The good news is that the thing really works well with mosquitoes. Two things not so hot. I didn't time it specifically, but while the liquid tank mounted in the bottom lasts for a good while, the insert at the top doesn't, and in any case I don't think the protection lasts as long as advertised. Meanwhile mine stopped working after about ten uses this summer. It's cheap so I'm going to buy a new one and hope for better.

NO LONGER COMES WITH A WEATHERPROOFING CAP
Be aware, the manufacturer has cheapened the product by NO LONGER SUPPLYING THE WEATHERPROOF CAP. The device is the same and works fine but now you can't leave it out on the deck. Photo shows my old orange one and the new blue one with the extra old orange cap I saved from the one I tossed. It still fits but looks like crap. Honestly, what could this cap cost? A few pennies saved for the maker, a constant pain for the user.

I would highly recommend.
We used these for an outdoor party and kept them in an open patio area. There were a lot of people there and no one complained about getting bit. A lot of people said they were going to buy one. I think there are fantastic, however they do not work so well in a wide open area, because the product can be moved by the wind. Keep your expectations real.

Great for Camping and Picnics
I bought the Thermacell Patio Shield mosquito repeller and my opinion using it is that It’s small and lightweight, about the size of a soda can, maybe a little bigger. It fits easily on a table and it’s simple to carry around if you want to bring it to the beach, a picnic, or even on a hike. When you open the box, don’t throw it away because the directions are attached to it. You have to put in a fuel cartridge and slide in one of the mosquito repellent mats. The fuel cartridge heats up a metal plate inside the device, and that’s what warms the mat so it can release the repellent. I like that it doesn’t need batteries. The box comes with one fuel cartridge and three mats. The fuel cartridge says it lasts up to 12 hours, but each mat only lasts about 4 hours. That’s something I don’t love because if you’re outside for a few hours or you use it often, you’ll go through the mats quickly. You’d have to buy refills pretty often if you plan on using it regularly. For camping, this adds up fast. If you want one on the picnic table and maybe another inside the tent, you’re talking about 6 to 8 hours of use at night, and the mat is basically done after 4 hours. Same thing when you’re sitting around a campfire or hanging out at a picnic table for long stretches. It’s definitely better than candles or torches, and unless you have an outlet for a bug zapper, this is the way to go, but it’s not cheap to keep running. The biggest issue for me is knowing whether it’s actually on. There’s a tiny eye-hole where you’re supposed to see a flame or glow, but I couldn’t see anything at all. I even took a picture inside the hole and still couldn’t tell. The only way I could figure it out was by touching the device to see if it felt warm. Another problem is the wind. If it’s windy out, even just a small breeze, it blows out the fuel cartridge flame and shuts the whole thing off. I had people over and was busy hosting, and I kept having to check it because it wasn’t warm anymore, which meant it wasn’t running. There’s no light or indicator to tell you it’s working, so you’re basically guessing unless you touch it. This is honestly the most annoying part. A simple indicator light would fix a lot of frustration. I tried it in windy weather, humid days, hot days, cold days, areas with lots of bugs, and areas where I wasn’t sure if they were mosquitoes. It’s hard to say how well it works because it really depends on the environment. Sometimes it seemed like it helped, sometimes I couldn’t tell at all. I think it’s one of those things where you’d have to stand somewhere you know you always get bitten, turn it on, and see if anything changes. I also worry about the fuel cartridge leaking if the device tips over. If you’re storing it, you’d probably want to remove the fuel cartridge and recap it each time. Overall, it’s a simple and easy-to-carry idea and it’s nice that it doesn’t need batteries. But the downsides for me are not knowing if it’s actually on, the wind blowing it out, and the cost of constantly buying mats and fuel cartridges if you use it a lot. Some people might prefer something you just turn on and forget about, like a bug zapper, instead of something that needs refills all the time. I think if you use this in combination with bug spray and maybe a zapper, you’d be fully protected. Using it by itself, I’m not completely sure. I guess it depends on the environment and the weather.
