Cut & Assemble an Early American Seaport: Easy-to-Make Paper Models (Cut & Assemble Buildings in H-O Scale)

Seaside village has many parts and is fun to make if you enjoy paper modeling. Well done!
Nice assortment of buildings, although many are similar in design and shape. A few boats, pier, and small lighthouse complete the set. It does take hours of work, doubt kids would have enough patience to complete but some do. I take my time as I am retired. Work a bit a day and find it relaxing. I'm proud of such results too. I've completed a carousel, farm, castle, and several on line designed paper projects. One reviewer asks what is the point of this? Well, it is to build and display, although I usually give mine away so they won't collect dust in my apartment.I enjoy these "cut and assemble" kits a lot. I have the Frank Lloyd Wright Robie house ready to do someday, it looks extremely difficult, but this seaside town is not hard, it's quite easy. Use a good fast acting glue, scissors for most cutting, I use a large and a very small sharp set, scoring tool, various helpers like tooth picks and clamps, and a knife. Five stars on this because I haven't found any design flaws, it's not perfect, but it has a nice set of buildings that can be on a display board. I haven't done that part yet, about midway through making the buildings. I am familiar with this kind of kit and find it well done.

Solid Dover quality. Nicely rendered. Not as charming as the European paper models, but a very good effort.

The graphics are very nice, the designs equally so but there are a few problems. First the paper is too thick requiring a heavy cutting hand even with a brand new blade. A slightly used blade can tear the paper. Many of the details are too fine for the heavy paper. The slot method for attaching the details is very low level for such nice graphics. Because of the fine detail and heavy cutting action this product is not for kids.

a blast from the past of my childhood
I got this book in my teens for my hobby. Over time, I lost track of the book, and the models which I had built. Eventually my father knew where the book was, but my models had been lost.I am going to rebuild these models again for my war games, but also, I'd like to have them on display as they also remind me of my home close to the ocean,The models are to scale, and could be used for rail road modeling, scenic, school projects, or just for those who like to build stuff with card stock.
