We were so busy with if we could we never stopped to ask if we should.
I despise furries. I find them a blight on reality. This being said, this was a present for a 12 year old and they lived out their little furry dreams. I hate it, but the kid loved it. 10 out of 10 would give this as a present again. Fun part is I can tell when they're paying attention. Didn't expect that. It's unnatural. This thing reads brain waves and the ears react to said brain waves. So when they are attentive, the ears perk up. It disgusts me. If they're not pay attention, or just kind of zoning out, then the ears kind of wobble to and fro. Why can't kids have elf ears instead of these unholy creations of our genius? Like the good ole days? Anyways. They work. They work very well....too well. I will say it did require charging out of the box, but it wasn't that bad. Kid killed it in one day, so the ears aren't lasting all day. As for the fit? Just fine, actually. I don't remember there needing to be any adjustments need to wear the ears properly. It seemed to fit just fine right out of the box. As for the cost, it's a bit pricy for a gift that's going to give you nightmares, but worth the smiles and pure wonder for the kids. If you are a grown person wearing this...what can I say other than every day you move further and further away from the glory of the Light. So, would I buy this again? Yeah if there was another degenerate child that was interested. Do I want to buy it again. Probably. It's a fun little piece of tech.

Each Replacement Was Defective.
I don't get the high reviews. I have received three, each one has been defective. One of them, it never calibrates. Always beeped. Replaced for another one where the ear servo was grinding really bad as if going past the limit of the device. Returned and replaced with another. This new one shuts off after a minute of use, despite having been charging all night. Absolute trash. Even if it worked, the headset is uncomfortable, heavy, loud and just not fun to use. It really is random as to what it will do. Again TRASH! No wonder they discontinued this product.

Loud. A bit painful and slower than previous models
Annoying as hell meowing and tight on someone with a wide head. Convenient charging, no more AAA batteries. I feel like the sniveling behaviors have changed in this model: the reading is not as sensitive.

Worth the buy
So. I've owned two pair of the originals. I still have one pair of them that's functional that I keep for special occasions. I got the newer 2021 version out of curiosity. There is a big difference between the two. I'll try and address everything. 1. Rechargeable battery. Original took AAA and ate them like candy. This version is USB-C rechargable. 2. They work similarly. But slightly different. These don't move as much as the originals. That's ok though. It saves battery. Which is nice. But maybe not quite as expressive. The originals would shift into the different expressions and stay there until you triggered the next one instead of going back to neutral each time unless your brain went back to neutral essentially. 3. Sounds. This one makes meowing and purring sounds. Which you can turn off. Honestly could do without. Waste of battery in my opinion. 4. Worth the money? Absolutely. Especially if you were a fan of the originals. They're a lovely toy and quite fun. Batches pop up for sale on occasion. I'll probably pick up additional pairs. 5. Fit. Rigid headset. Fits well. It is tight and flexible. Has strap holes for a band along the back. Should fit kids and adults alike. However wearing it for prolonged periods might cause a headache. 6. Servos are quiet. Which is a marked improvement. The old models had very loud servos. 7. Cosplay compatible? Maybe. It doesn't sit quite flush with your head like the originals. So you might have to work with it a bit. 8. Needs adult supervision. Definitely. While these are a "toy" they're a nicer toy which should be taken care of properly. I'll add more as I play with them more.

Very fun, limited emotions etc
Okay, so I’m not sure why people hate this so much lol. Google translate is free and people who don’t know how to use it are being annoyingly obtuse. Setup is easy. Click the button on the side of the large black box. Yep. Then when the light blinks on, it is calibrating. If it makes a weird noise like a deflated “doot doot doot” it’s lost connection with your forehead to get brainwaves from. If the white light shaped like a cat is blinking, it means it needs to charge. You can also mute it by just clicking the button on the side again. The manual says it only takes about 70 minutes to charge, I didn’t mind and let mine charge for more than that. It’s actually not that noticeable (the headband/side box) when you wear it. I think this would be great for cosplay. It’s super lightweight and I was afraid the headband wouldn’t fit me but it does (and to be fair I’m quite small). I have had no issues with the sensor going above my eyebrow as instructed where it SHOULD be. Video is me trying it on while doing some basic work on the PC. Don’t expect it to do crazy things like react to everything you do, but I’m sleep deprived while using this and it even noticed I was getting tired by going into relax mode several times, so you know it’s actually quite accurate!

Good ears
They seem very well built all except for the clip for the ear. It just seems like a tiny dainty wire that’s going to break. The rest of it seems nice. Mine did not come with a strap for the back of the head, but I enjoy using the ears and find it intriguing to think about my mental state Wearing them and to watch my emotions come out in a physical form is entertaining
