Initially Delighted with me Pochade / outdoor painting box
The media could not be loaded. Having only just picked this up, I have yet to use in earnest but at first sight this looks like a pretty well thought out box, with magnets to hold attachable brush tray & canvas compartment in the base, as described ; a hanging towel/ rag rail. i think with care it will hold up well & be invaluable to Plein Air painting outings. The accompanying fabric case with handle and cross body strap, will also help, freeing up hands to carry the tripod etc & allow a little extra storage around the box in the bag.I am struggling to find a canvas to fit the canvas storage compartment properly - slots for canvas are too thin & tad further apart than 8” but don’t quite fit 9”, maybe? (sorry preparedH photos failed to load)- so wouldnt use it for wet works but can take one canvas loose or several small boards. Also i can only think when they say it will hold two they must mean one in the base canvas carrier the other in the easel..?But Overall i am thrilled with this pochade/ outdoor painting box & look forward to putting it to regular use ( it won’t be that shiny for long ;)UPDATE on further use : Why oh why is the hot snow tripod plate set soo far back& totally off balance - i have had two disasters in the past 24 hours; even with the best quality tripod this job is the only thing to hold up the box and it’s off balance in light winds; broke the first plastic hot plate, crashing the pochade box to the ground - BE WARE!I am now trying to source another plate to install more centrally under the pochade box.

As described and excellent value.
Much as described. The item is made of wood, although the structure and fittings are a little flimsy and may need strengthening or replacing if the box is likely to receive regular hard use. The retaining magnets of the brush holder are not strong enough but I reinforced this with some velcro. I found it as stable as I would expect when it was fitted to a tripod. It will only carry two thin wet panels safely, but this is adequate; a separate panel carrier is always a better option. This box is excellent value for money and should be adequate for most artists' needs.

Makes me happy
I don't remember when a single purchase last made me this happy.I absolutely love my little box of bliss!I got it in December and use it pretty much daily.I can't get over how many functions it has.For example, if you mount it on a tripod (the box does NOT come with one), you can attach the paper towel holder it comes with! I use it like that sometimes but so far I mostly have it on my lap (cushion in between) while sitting super comfortably with my legs up and thanks to this compact little wonder I have everything I need just at my fingertips.I love how my paints fit in there and my knives, short handled brushes, my go to acryil pad size and my palette (at the moment a 9"x12" tear off palette but once I am through I will look for a more environmental friendly solution. There are sooooo many options.Picture with above tear off, a 10"x7" acrylic pad and a size 8 longhandle brush attached for size reference. This would be the only way long handle brushes fit.I also love the attachable brush rest. I usually have that attached to the drawer thingy.Oh and please don't forget about the integrated drying thingy! I forgot about that at first and damaged a painting by leaving it on the top part of the box.I don't have much space and I don't want it to be a big thing to get out all my painting stuff. So this is really perfect for me. The only things that don't fit are my long handle brushes and my water container (and if course bigger surfaces).

Too heavy for me to use outdoor
Just too heavy for tripod. I used a sturdy one. Not practical. Shame as great quality hence the weight issue.

For the price it's great.
I always wanted a Pochade but most are too dear for me. Then I looked at the Meeden pochade and liked the look of it at the price. It turned up well packed and in perfect condition. After playing with it like a kid at Christmas for a couple of hours, I was very pleased with it.It holds everything I need to paint watercolour anywhere, and to me is a very Nice object in itself, making the whole watercolour experience even better.I was sent the wrong colour, but I'm still happy with it as both colours are nice and it was a close call anyway. It's permanently on my table top to use now, unless I want to put it on a tripod for anywhere use.It might not be the lightest, but it's ideal in my mind. The carry case is a nice touch, slightly padded with a shoulder strap. At this price point Ihighly recommend it.

The weight and compactness
The design is more update

Flimsy
Not fit for field trips. Bits fall off such as the brush holder which is not positively fixed to frame . The design is awful with sliding panels which will stick once moisture accumulates. The support mechanism for connecting to a tripod is totally inadequate to carry any weight normally associated with outdoor work.etc . . I am surprised this is not listed by Amazon under children's toys
