Love how it enhances the flavor of any curry with its umami flavor. I will definitely buy again.

It would seem that many people do notresearch anything before they buy!!I always buy this Shrimp Paste (it is actually anchovies) and the smell is very strong because it is highly concentrated, that is why it comes in such a small container!!!I put some in my curry paste, which I made yesterday, or I simply put some in a small Tupperware container and put a bit of hot water in it and let it sit to dissolve.......then pour into my curry.The reason there is no English text on it is because......it is from Thailand!!Anyway, give it a another go. It is strong but that is what makes it soooo good!

The flavor that this adds to stir fry and kimchi is exactly what you want. I needed much less of it than the kimchi recipe called for! I could absolutely see this being good on pizza in very low amounts!I found out that it is not the correct shrimp to use on kimchi even though the flavor was identical. The smell was terrible, and I cannot be completely confident in the ingredients. This is a great product, but it is is difficult to tell exactly what it is. I recommend it if you are looking for a more punchy fermented seafood flavor than what regular fish or anchovy sauce would provide. If you wanted to homemake a Worcestershire sauce or really add some umami to your steak, this may be worth a try...

Saw it on a cooking show. We used it in our schrimp fried rice. Gave it such flavor. Just like restaurant style!

Really great for Asian and South East Asian dishes good flavor

I assumed this would be close to the Filipino version but so wrong. It taste as one would expect but the texture is too pasty for me.

Be sure to use this type of shrimp paste for Thai curries, not the stuff that comes in a large container that is more viscous and milder in aroma. Yes, this stuff smells strong, but don't be afraid of it. This is the type to use for making your own curry pastes etc.

I do quite a bit of asian-style cooking, and occasionally need some shrimp paste. This small size suited my needs perfectly. The flavor in finished product is great, and the price was very good. It was shipped quickly, packaged appropriately, and arrived safely. Hubby is enjoying a stir-fry as we speak--very happy!
