perfect for oily and wavy hair
First off, the smell is amazing. it's so natural, a little earthy (in a good way) and very fresh. I love essential oil scents so I knew it'd be perfect. this bar lathers really nicely. I've had the best experiences when I lather it up on my hands first and then apply it to my scalp instead of rubbing the bar on my hair. I have really oily hair and this shampoo bar does a really good job cleaning my scalp. I wash my hair everyday and it doesn't dry out my hair or anything. I use the Paul Mitchell tea tree conditioner with it and it works perfect for my wavy hair.

Moisturizing bar is AMAZING, Detox scent is overwhelming
I have tried three of the shampoo bars and one of the conditioner bars from this company. The performance of the Moisturizing shampoo bar is perfect for curly hair, and I absolutely love the scent. It wears out much faster than the matching conditioner, though--I would estimate one conditioner bar for every three shampoo bars. The Intense conditioner is very nice, but it leaves a little residue, so I tried both the Purifying and Detox bars to reset my hair every few shampoos. The Purifying is really great, with green clay and a nice peppermint scent, but I do NOT recommend the Detox bar if you are sensitive to smells at all. It has an overwhelming patchouli odor that filled the whole room when I opened the package. All in all, I'd say they're a little overpriced for what is essentially a bar of soap, but I will keep buying them because they're quality.

Overall Great Product
B.O.B. makes the cleanest, most sustainable products and they don’t cost an arm and a leg! I have medium length hair and the shampoo lasted me about 3 months!

Love this shampoo!
I'm officially converted from bottled shampoo! The purple toning bar works wonderfully on my color treated hair, not too harsh and leaves it feeling soft. And I feel so much better about buying less plastic.

Disintegrated pretty quickly
I really did like the performance of this shampoo bar. It was the first one I tried and I initially planned to repurchase. It lathered well, had a pleasant scent and wasn’t stripping or leaving residue. The problem was that it almost immediately started crumbling into pieces. It was on a self draining soap holder and dried out between uses but still ended up falling apart. I have not had the same problem with my Ethique shampoo bar. Hopefully they can fix that problem because it was fine otherwise.

Deep clean with a fresh scent
This product is fantastic for oily hair! Most bar shampoos leave a residue that weighs my hair down, but the Detox bar leaves my hair feeling super clean and light. It also reduces oiliness throughout the day so I don’t wake up with stringy hair the next morning. And a little goes a long way; it lasts longer than I expected as long as you let it dry out between uses. The scent is unique and refreshing—I look forward to it every morning!I suggest using conditioner as needed (every other day works for me) because this shampoo does tend to dry out long hair.UPDATE: A year and a half later, this is still my holy grail product for oily hair. I love it! I also use it on my t-zone; they make a soap for your skin, but I actually prefer the shampoo bar instead. It’s great for oily skin (especially in summer), and it doesn’t irritate my somewhat sensitive skin, though I do have to moisturize a bit more when I use it. A+++ product for my skin/hair type!

Needs some work to be worth it for me....
UPDATE: I am docking this a star. After multiple uses of only this product, I realized that this shampoo bar leaves a nasty residue on my hair that continues to build on future uses. Unfortunately, you'll need some sort of an acid wash (like apple cider vinegar) in order to remove the residue if you continue to use the bar. I noticed as I straightened my hair that it was melting off this build up that was on my hair onto my flat iron and I had to clean it afterwards. Not my favorite experience ever. This altogether makes this product way too inconvenient for me.ThoughtsI purchased the 'moisturizing bar'. I have ordered, tested, and used approximately twelve different shampoo bars. Of all the brands, This ranked comparatively high on branding and packaging but it ranked among the last of the bunch on moisturizing qualities and smell.ProsThis bar lathers as expected and the surfactant used is the eco-friendly Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate which I prefer to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. The lather isn't initially as foamy as some of the other top contenders that I have tested but it builds up well on your scalp. The branding and packaging is very nice and informational - which could be good for first time shampoo bar adopters. The shampoo bar does do its job of cleansing the scalp. I didn't pH test this particular bar so I'm not going to comment on that. Although, I will say that many other brands who claim to have a 'pH balanced' bar are far too alkaline to be healthy for your scalp. If you use this bar or any other bar and your scalp is itching a lot - that's a sign it's not properly pH balanced. I didn't have that occur in my first use with this bar and imagine that the 'Citric' I see in the ingredients is to help bring this pH to a healthier level. Again - I didn't test this one but that's my best bet.ConsThe smell isn't horrible but it is not good. It's earthy smelling but not in a good way at all. If they utilized essential oils in their formulation I would be more likely to want to use this...or maybe even clean fragrances formulated from isolates (essential oils can be very agitating). But yeah - the smell is enough to keep me from reordering. The other thing is that this really didn't moisturize my hair as much as I had hoped. My hair feels really dry. I only know this because of my testing in comparison to other bars and I know the moisturizing quality can be much better without compromising the other qualities of the bar. Also, I do genuinely love Brazil (where this bar is produced and company is from) and love Brazilian culture but I also love supporting American businesses when I can. This isn't a con but it's always something I like to note!Bottom LineI won't be reordering from this brand anytime soon based on my thoughts above but I do appreciate what they're doing and I can see how this could easily grow into an irresistible product. I wish them all the best in their growth!

Smells expired but it works...
I think this one sat in a warehouse storage for too long. It smells like rancid oil and looks like the top layer melted and resolidified. That being said, the shampoo works. I had to scrape off the top layer because it was unusable (stinky and didn't lather), but the rest of the bar is fine. This is why I typically avoid buying bath and cosmetic products on Amazon. It does a great job cleaning off residues from my hair. If you have dry hair, you will need a conditioner afterward - it really cleans off everything! The scent is very masculine. Be aware.
