EDIT: Make sure you have the right sensor!
I have a 2009 Toyota Sienna FWD and I got the P0717 trouble code, which indicates a bad transmission speed sensor. The van was shifting roughly and it was clear there was a need to change the sensor. I saw this sensor was much cheaper than anywhere else so I bought it.I installed it and tested, hoping the slight difference in the sensor end wouldn’t make a difference.I was wrong. Not only did it not fix the problem, but it shifted worse than before and was erratic. I pulled it back out, cleaned the OEM sensor with some mass air flow cleaner, then reinstalled that while I wait for the OEM replacement to get here. After doing further research, I found out this sensor is the second sensor, or the NT input sensor located under the battery. It is an exact replacement and so far, is working perfectly.Just be sure to double check your part numbers because they are near each other, but they are not the same.

Excellent- used for 08 scion xb
Fellow scion owners- I was throwing input and output codes- our vehicle has TWO speed sensors. One under the air filter, one under the battery housing. Make sure you've checked your vehicle before feeling disappointed! Replaced both and no more codes. All for $40, super super grateful!

Poor quality shifts
2007 Toyota Sienna with code p0793. Replaced the speed sensor with this unit. Car detected this sensor, and check engine light/code went away. However shift from second to third was delayed and very harsh. Performed relearn after installation, still no success. Harsh, delayed shift. Replaced sensor again with an OEM unit from Toyota, and the shift was instantly fixed.I'm a fan of bargain parts. 9 times out of 10 they do the job just as well as the overpriced stuff from dealerships, but that was not the case this time. The sensor is physically 3/16 of an inch shorter than both the failed OEM sensor I pulled out, and the OEM sensor I installed. I believe it's just manufactured incorrectly, or not compatible with my application, 2007 Toyota Sienna.

Careful! This is the NT Sensor and is the Input Sensor
There are two distinct speed sensors for the 2007 Toyota Sienna. This one is the black input sensor. Some retailers like O'Reilly Auto Parts will sell you identical black sensors, both with short tips! They will not work well. This black input sensor, NT SENSOR, is in a forward position and closer to the driver side wheel from the blue one and the OEM part number is 89413-08020.The sensor on the top of the transmission is blue color output NC SENSOR and the OEM part number is 89413-48010. I ordered this at Amazon "Beck/Arnley 0900012 Transmission Speed Sensor."

Works good , no more check engine light.
installed easily with the many Youtubes avaialble, on a 2006 Sienna. it is the front sensor, kinda under the battery , not the sensor near the starter. They are different be careful
