Watts 8 X 8 Inch Spring Fit Access Panel Polystyrene Wall Hole Cover for Drywall

We took out the house intercoms in each bedroom. We needed something easy to patch the hole. This is as easy as it gets for that. I painted it the color of the wall and done. Easy and fast.

This is an access panel that you put in for access to the back of a shower or water lines. Drains, it would just cut a hole in the drywall. The size of the inside of it, it gives you dimensions. And then you set the sprays pushed in place, and they hold it, they work real good, use them before, and I would recommend them

I had a plumber refurbish my shower valve in my guestroom bath -- replacing the old 1980s Delta ball valve with a modern Moen cartridge valve. That entailed making a hole in the drywall on the other side of the wall to expose the back of the valve. Rather than immediately hiring someone to patch the drywall, I thought I'd leave it open for a bit to ensure it doesn't eventually start leaking, so I ordered this Watts 14"X 14" Spring Fit Access Panel. The hole is taller vertically than horizontally, but the panel went in perfectly and is much better than guests looking at a hole in the wall. It fits tight, and doesn't rattle, and looks nice enough to allow me to wait until I have painters in the house for some other reason. This solution is a bit pricey for what's effectively a piece of plastic, but I wasn't able to find anything close to the right size locally, and I'll have the panel available when I eventually get my other shower redone.

I ordered this panel to cover an access hole made by a plumber working on pipes in our basement ceiling. It was quick and easy to install, but one of the teeth broke off when we inserted it into the hole. It still worked, and hasn't budged in several months. There is a small gap between the plate and the ceiling on the side with the broken tooth, but it isn't really noticeable unless you look for it. Overall, we are very happy with the panel.

I've had a 13" square hole that a plumber had to cut out in order to access the the hot/cold water pipes from the other bathroom. He screwed the square of drywall he cut out into a stud with 2 screws, which left it eyesore. I didn't want to tape, patch, and repair in case we ever needed to access these pipes again. This cover instantly solved the problem! I can't believe how easy it was to put in. It lays flush, so looks good. I would recommend this product!

This is well made. The finish is nice. It is easy to install. Exceeds expectations.

Simple and cheap. It is easy to paint to match as you need. It is spring-loaded, and this works okay for opening/closing infrequently. That was my intention on my project, and after I tried the first one I thought it was good enough to buy 5 more. One strange oddity is that the advertised dimensions of this product seem to have changed even though the part number effectively stayed the same. The first "APU-9" is listed as being 9" x 9". However, subsequent purchases (listed now as "APU9", without the hyphen) are described as 8"x8", although they appear to be the same size. Very odd, but this doesn't affect my feeling that this is an "okay product for the money"

Fit perfect as access panel for side tiles under garden tub. Just wished they came in colors.
