If you are looking at this watch then you are probably a G shock collector ? What you are looking at is a much upgraded DW-5600 which at the moment you can get for around £50+. So what you get is a solid stainless steel core, atomic time keeping, solar charging, far higher quality bezel and strap, much improved module (far more functions). Basically this is a set and forget watch, always accurate time and date including "DST" (Day Light Saving) due to the atomic time keeping signal which is transmitted every night at around 1am in the UK. No battery changes every few years , just expose it to daylight/sunlight when you're not wearing it to keep it charged, should last approx 6months+ when fully charged with no exposure to light and power saving turned on. If you decide to get this watch then make sure you get the "U" version with the updated module. If you don't want to spend the £200+ this watch costs then go for the G Shock GW-M5610U which has exactly the same module and functions but without the quality upgrades as mentioned but still a great watch which sells for around the £100 mark. Which ever you decide you are getting a very good watch. Hope this review helps ! EDIT: Forgot to mention that the GW-5000U also has a screw down mirrored case back with DLC (diamond like coating) and not the conventional 4 screws which you find on many other G-Shocks, so water resistance is also improved. EDIT 2: (15/3/25) 12 months on and the watch is still working perfectly, I have not had to touch it once ! Battery always at 100%...Time always correct to the second.

I always thought that G Shock watches looked big and chunky but on receipt of this 5000U solar watch, apart from being really light the time function was spot on so no more correcting for seconds lost or gained. The secondary functions like stop watch, time zones, daylight saving and darkness backlight all work perfectly. As with all G Shocks, there is no worries about extra protection during everyday use even after almost two of wearing, it still looks like new with its coated stainless steel case wrapped in durable polymar rubber.

My first G-SHOCK, best quality highly durable and reliable

If you looking at this watch than you know it is a good product. When it arrives it not dissapoont me , it is a beutifull piece of timer. Old school looking but up to date. Great if you like a bit more quality in life. It is not as big as my Garmin Fenix6 which surprised me a little bit. It is my first Gshock and my only one i need. Perfect choice.

The ultimate beater watch!

As a G-Shock collector and a owner or a MTG-B3000 I can honestly say this is one of if not THE best G-shock squares out there… Yes a GW-M5610U is a dam fine watch but until you have them both in your hand then you will understand the extra quality!!!

I've owned over 20+ g shocks in my watch collecting journey and this has got to be the most pleasantly satisfying of them all' comfort on the wrist is off the scale 10/10 everything about this g feels right,and it will soon be the only g shock left in my collection yep you guessed, I've found my ultimate g :) this one is a keeper excellent timepiece

Piccolo e completo orologio, completo di tutto ciò che serve, con il vantaggio di materiali premium per cassa e cinturino, al polso non si sente, ricarica solare e radio controllo, posseggo altri due g shock tough solar e multiband 6 che alterno. Ottima disintossicazione dalla effimera e dispendiosa corsa all’orologio meccanico ormai anacronistica.

Llevo año y medio con este reloj y cada día estoy más contento con la compra. Voy a hacer natación todos los días del año y tenía uno de esos relojes inteligentes que te lo dicen todo, los metros nadados, la cantidad de virajes realizados o el numero de brazadas por vuelta, pero cuando lo llevé a la playa a los 3 días se me estropeó. Tuve yo la culpa ya que buceé a más de los 2 metros que permitía el reloj. Cuando fui a comprarme otro lo que no quería es que me pasase lo mismo por lo que quería un reloj resistente y eso es precisamente lo que encontré en este reloj por el mismo precio que el reloj inteligente. Es verdad que no tengo todas esas funciones que tenía el otro pero este tiene justo lo que se le pide a un reloj, exactitud total (donde vivo casi todas las noches se pone en hora con el reloj atómico de Alemania) , simpleza , comodidad y sobre todo resistencia. Como dato curioso debo decir que llevo meses sin quitármelo de la muñeca, simplemente cuando me ducho procuro limpiar bien tanto el reloj como la piel que queda en contacto con el mismo. La batería durará seguramente más de 10 años y es posible que la correa dure más de 5, y estos son los únicos gastos que te va a dar este reloj en años.

ça faisait longtemps que je regardais cette montre, et voilà maintenant c'est fait, elle fait partie de ma collection. Cette g-shock a su garder l'esprit de g-shock tout en y apportant les technologies actuelles comme la recharge solaire et le radio piloté. La conception de cette g-shock est excellente, structure interne en métal, fond vissé, bracelet et protection du boîtier sont de bonne facture. Alors c'est vrai, cette montre n'a pas toutes les fonctionnalités actuelles, par exemple en regardant juste chez casio, une gw-9400 ou une gwg-2000 ou gwg-b1000 en feront beaucoup plus, mais avec des complications, comme des aiguilles, des capteurs, tous ces éléments qui à mon avis peuvent rendre ces montres moins fiables que celle ci. Alors est-ce que j'exagère en disant que c'est probablement la meilleure g-shock de tous les temps ? la poupard des personnes diront que oui, mais en y regardant de plus près, je n'exagère peut-être pas tant que ça, du moment qu'on cherche une g-shock simple et efficace. Dernière chose, oui, pour une petite carré presque 300€ ça peut paraître cher, mais à y regarder de plus près, il y a d'autres montre bien plus chères, qui ne tiendront pas autant dans le temps que celle ci.
