This book is great for beginners and I highly recommend it. A great way to start. It helped me a lot.

This book was very good. The instructions very clear and easy to follow and the diagrams and link to videos were extremely helpful.

I learned the basics of crocheting as a small child and was super excited when my neighbor recently called together a crocheting party. It turned out my crooked scarf was no match for the baby hats and fingerless gloves of the others. I basically hid my work in embarrassment while pretending I knew what I was doing. This book, however, has given me confidence that at our next crocheting party I will be able to crochet something other than a crooked scarf!! The patterns in the back are beautiful, fun and detailed. At first glance they were confusing, but when I read the book in its entirety I could see that they are explained in great detail in the preceding chapters – complete with detailed drawings and links to short youtube videos showing how to compete each of the described task. I love the idea of having video links in an ebook! My favourite technique that I learned was how to make a pompom (probably because it was the easiest technique)! I have to say that there are a lot of details in the first few pages of this book that may seem at first to be superfluous (e.g., where certain types of crocheting hooks originated from), but after reading this I took out my crochet hook and sat down to tackle my favorite pattern with the help of the videos and instructions in this book. I’m no pro yet, but I look forward to trying every pattern given!! I would highly recommend to anyone with little to no experience who wants to learn to crochet!

Disappointing as afghan shown on book cover does not have this pattern or picture inside the book. Sorry I ordered this book. Will return book.

This was my second crochet for beginners book to read. I have been looking for free beginner patterns and picking up tips and tricks for my new hobby of crocheting. This book gives good detail and diagrams but also references videos to actually see the work in progress. Some of the links did not pan out but most did and I saved the links I wanted to go back and watch into a crochet playlist on YT. Definitely a good book for the beginner crocheter.

I ordered another book by this author, and when I receive this one, it is a repeat of the first book, except for a few patterns more. Not worth the money. Sending it back!

I first learned to crochet over 50 years ago and was very keen on it, but after a few years my life got busier so set it aside in favor of other things such a as family, career, etc. Over the year I've done lots of other "crafty things like sewing clothes for myself and my children, embroidery, and knitting. But now that I want to crochet I have found that I've forgotten how I've looked at other books but the language was clumsy and the illustrations or photos were not that helpful for me. This book while not perfect , does excel in both explanations and diagrams or illustrations. Not only can I simply pick up a book and just start, but if I get stuck the book is right here to look it up! Plus, it came to me from Kindle Unlimited so I got it for free! And if I decide to keep it forever in my library the cost is very reasonable.

I've been wanting to learn to crochet for a while now, but I've never found a step by step instruction that was simple enough for me to understand. This book was suggested by a friend, who seems to be a complete whizz when it comes to knitting, crocheting, sewing and everything creative, so I gave it a go! I absolutely love that this book has pictures to go along with the step by step instructions given. The instructions are really easy to follow anyway, but I definitely work a lot better when I can see what I'm supposed to be doing! And if the pictures didn't help me enough, the book links me to a video or two along the way so that I can see it all in more detail, which is just fantastic. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started the book, but it gives a great break down of what is needed to start crocheting, and even offers links to other amazon products that you could use, to make your life a little easier! I've been working on the more simple crocheting recently, because I'm not yet brave enough to try out any of the patterns that are in the book. But I have been trying to include different coloured yarn, because I love more colourful projects, and I'm so glad that this book includes a 'Changing Colours' section! I can't wait to have a go at the Heart Hat for my niece, any maybe in time, the octopus toy, because it's so sweet! I'm really glad this book was suggested to me! Definitely worth the five star rating!

Perfect guide for anyone wanting to learn crochet or learn new and different techniques. The book came packaged well and on time. There were no bends, folds, tears or marks. All of the text, diagrams and pictures were clear and easy to see/read. The descriptions were easy to understand and follow. It teaches you everything from different types and sizes of hooks and threads and how to use them, to individual full patterns you can follow. In depth description of all the unique hooks and threads, how to recognise them, how to use them and what they are best used for. The patterns are broken down into easy to follow instructions with pictures when needed. All around a great crochet guide.

Nice book has some patterns, and different stitches. Good for beginners learning to crochet. Pictures of the stitches.

This book is a better choice for beginners, however I would still suggest that Amazon give a few picture of the inside of the book in order to make a choice on which book to purchase. The front cover and a picture of the UPC code does NOT help in making that choice.
