Do you apply oil before sharpening of knifes?

These plates are pretty thin so there isn’t a lot of abrasive material with untreated steel on the back. If wet and not cleaned quickly, they will develop rust. It’s probably best to use some type of oil or waterless lubricant

Mono crystalline or poly crystalline?

They have a picture of a butter knife being used on a 2k grit stone.... This seller obviously doesn't care or know anything about what they're actually selling and is just here to make a quick buck off garbage "products"
