Great German made Marzipan made in Lubec, Germany.
Excellent candy from one of the most famous makers of marzipan in Germany. I like ordering from the Homestore distributor because they are based in Germany and they send the candy out from Hamburg or Frankfurt. It is an amazing deal when you consider the price versus how far they ship it from and it’s always fresh and good.

Niederegger Chocolat covered marzipan
I was born in Germany, naturally I love marzipan, grew up with it. I bought this before Christmas. It was delicious and fresher than any I have ever purchased in a store. I sent a package to my brothers and my son. They loved it! Couldn't believe I ordered it through Amazon. I bought two more for my family. It was devoured in no time. I will order this marzipan over & over again.

The BEST Marzipan made
Every year I order this marzipan - Niederegger Chocolate Covered Marzipan Loaf for two friends of mine. It is the BEST made, and the best buy for your dollar in value. One friend is from Germany and she tells me she "knows her marzipan and this is IT so I treat her to it every year. The other lady I treat each year lived in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands for many, many years and swears by the Niederegger Marzipan and is always so happy to receive my gift to her each year. I hope Amazon always carries it and it's available with my Prime membership or I'll have two very sad friends.

No longer a 5-pack!
Product's great and, over the years, I've ordered it multiple times via this exact page, always receiving a 5-pack...until recently, that is...Despite what the Q&A and some of the reviews may make you believe, this page no longer is for a 5-pack but for one single small overpriced bar. For your 5-pack you'll now have to go to a page titled 'Niederegger Lubeck Marzipan Dark Chocolate Loaf 48g (5-pack)'.

TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE
Too good to be deliciously true. You must taste this to believe it and I honestly am sure that you will not be disappointed and be back for more. I know I will. The dark chocolate over the marzipan is out of this world scrumptious. The only problem is wearing it for a long time, so savor every bite....and make it last. What a great company Niederegger is.... quality at its best. There is a saying that you get what you pay for and I tell you truthfully that this surely is~ Thank you Niederegger!

Disappointed in the Quality--Not Worth the Price
This was alright, but a little underwhelming. I bought a pack of five and gave them as stocking stuffers for a few people and I took one for myself to split with a friend. It had a stale and dry taste/texture to them, and the flavor felt muted. Some of the recipients thought it was okay, but two thought it was not good at all; one threw her bar out after having about half. I would not buy them again.SUMMARY OF REVIEW:- pro: Taste of chocolate was good and smooth;- pro: Smell was delightful;- pro: not super sweet or sugary;- con: marzipan was stale and did not taste fresh;- con: the price is very expensive for the small size (more than $4 a small bar);- con: the price is very expensive for the poor quality; and- con: the marzipan was dry and almost crumby, not creamy.FULL REVIEW:This was disappointing. While the outer chocolate layer was smooth and tasty, the inside marzipan--the star of the show--was not good. It was stale and did not taste fresh at all. The inside was also dried out and did not have a creamy moisture content like good marzipan should; it was on the verge of being crumby. For more than $4 a bar--a rather small bar--this is simply unacceptable. As a point of reference, a pack of thin airheads (6) is 3.1 ozs, which is half an oz more than each marzipan loaf. I understand that 2.6 oz is an objective marker, for which the buyer is responsible for knowing, but to receive something of poor quality, which is expensive, and happens to be small in size is the problem I am having with this product. The only redeeming quality is that it smelled pleasant and the chocolate was of good quality. To settle any issues as to my storage of the five bars affecting quality, four bars were placed in the refrigerator when I received them and one was eaten right away when it arrived between two of us (we were excited to try it). There was no difference in quality of the bars, or more aptly the lack of quality.CONCLUSION:I cannot recommend this product, nor could the other five people who had tasted these bars. The four people who got these as gifts all reported similar experiences--one even threw her bar out after a few bites--and the other another person and myself who split a bar were also not impressed. Simply put, the quality of the marzipan was not good but the chocolate coating was great.**Leave questions in the comments and I'll do my best to respond when I see them.
