Versatile
This converter is better than it appears: The output is isolated from the input. There is no galvanic connection between the input and output; neither the negative nor positive output is connected to either input. This allows the output to float with respect to the input voltages. There output is a voltage tripler, but can be wired as a straight rectifier or as a voltage doubler by removing some capacitors and diodes and placing wire jumpers. The allows the output voltage range to be lowered if desired.
