Only 71" long (13" shorter than mattress), and difficult assembly due to a defective part
I recently moved into a new apartment and got a new bed for it - a long-awaited California King. Finally, a bed long enough that I don't have to choose between my pillow or my feet hanging off the edge! I got a complete mattress + box spring set (regular-profile 9" box spring + 12" mattress). I didn't know what height of bed frame to get, but I saw several 14" ones on Amazon that looked good and got one of those. Turns out the 14" frame + box spring + mattress was almost comically high...you practically had to take a running leap to get on it, and I'm a moderately tall dude! But I knew I wanted something higher than the standard 7" that most frames tend to be. I'd seen plenty of ~10" frames for other bed sizes, so it would be no problem to find one in CA King, right?Welp, turns out I could only find two on all of Amazon (or anywhere else): this one, and an adjustable queen/king/CA king frame. That one was adjustable in width and height, but not length, which it listed as a rather short 73". Queen/king mattresses are 80", and CA king are 84"; I've seen that some bed frames are maybe 4-6" shorter than the mattress, but not much more than that, and this would have been a whopping 11" shorter than my mattress. So despite it being $70 cheaper and having free 1-day Prime shipping, I opted for this one instead, based on the dimensions listed in the product description: "California King: 72-inch x 84-inch; 48 lbs." With the weight listed as well, it's pretty clear it's meant to refer to the dimensions of the actual bed frame and not just the normal dimensions of a CA king bed - so I spent $70 more and waited 6 extra days to get this one based on the fact that it would be the full 84" length advertised. And as you probably gathered from the title...it's not even close. It measures in at a whopping 71" - 2" SHORTER than the one I passed up in order to get this one, specifically for the advertised length - and 13" shorter than a CA king mattress. Over a foot! (See the pictures of one of my box springs sitting on the frame for a visual of how far that is.)It also arrived in a badly damaged box, and it was clear that it had been opened and returned by a previous customer, with parts (and a single-page generic instruction sheet that wasn't even specific to this model of bed frame) thrown in haphazardly. Upon trying to assemble it, I found out why someone might have returned it: one of the "snap-together" brackets was bent so badly that it would only slide about two-thirds of the way in. After trying for probably half an hour and realizing it's not just me being an idiot, I finally applied some WD-40 and...it still wouldn't go in. That's when you *know* it's bad. But, using the leverage of the partially-inserted beam, I eventually managed to bend the bracket into the position it should have been in and finally snap it all the way in. For what it's worth, all the other pieces were a breeze; I'm sure it's normally much easier and I just got a bad one that had been previously opened, returned, and damaged, but still, know it can happen.Despite the shortness, the bed admittedly feels sturdy on the frame. Before putting the box springs and mattress on, it seemed a bit wobbly, and if you pushed down on one side of it, the other side would pop up noticeably, but with the weight of the bed on it, it doesn't move around at all. I was afraid that sitting on the foot of it would be a problem, what with no support at all underneath it, but after testing it several times, it's never tried to flip up on me or slide down or anything. And the height is exactly what I was hoping for. It's definitely not the frame I was looking for (or the frame it claims to be in terms of length), but it seems like it's going to work out. Just wish I hadn't been misled into spending the extra money and waiting the extra week for something 2" shorter than the alternative I'd already dismissed for being too short.

not really a high rise
I ordered this thinking it would allow me to eliminate the plastic risers i was using; this was not the case. this frame is only 2" higher than the average frame. the quality was nice, and the assembly was easy, but i still had to use the plastic risers. Because of this, i really don't feel it was worth the additional cost compared to a regular frame.

Perfect and simple
Went together in 10 minutes, everything fit as it should and plenty of spare parts (for other bed heights). The frame is sturdy and stable. I also bought the head board adapter brackets to mount a HB, but tossed my old foot board as it caused too many thigh bruises.Made by one of the best companies (Leggett and Platt) you never heard of. A quality product.

All was going good, until we found none of the rail slots ...
All was going good, until we found none of the rail slots would match up to our headboard predrilled holes. Had to build up bottom of headboard about an inch with rubber pad and furniture felt pads. Pain in the *****!
