Polder 90636-90H Iron Rest

The product itself is of strong, lightweight material and is more than able to hold our large steam iron (Bosch Sensixx B4 Power II). We attached the rest to our Brabantia Titan Ironing Board which has strengthening struts underneath which meant that the rest is ever so slightly off-centre - however this is so slight as to be negligible.Our ironing board had everything we wanted - large size, anti-burn silicon resting area...just no secure resting point - this is a great value option, and I cannot understand why this product is not available anywhere online in the UK - it's brilliant!

Works like stated. We are traveling in an RV and are limited to space. I have a small ironing board thus no space to set the iron in between uses. This attaches to the board fine and seems very sturdy. It does, however, slip a little when setting the iron in at an angle. If I sit the iron flat on the holder and the iron is on "steam" - the steam will continue to pump out. Definitely workable. I am very happy with the holder.

I thought this looked like just what I wanted--and it still does LOOK that way. Unfortunately, when it came, the threads of the hole for the clamp to attach it to my ironing board were defective and the clamp would not fit into the hole. So I e-mailed the company for a replacement. The replacement came with the same problem as the first. What will happen next is still up in the air, but I am very unhappy with being sent two defective products. For now, I have left a message on their answering machine (Perhaps Superstorm Sandy affected their Connecticut office) and am awaiting satisfaction.

I really cannot rate the Iron Rest. I had purchased a new iron and wanted to rest it not on the ironing board but at the end of it. When I received the rest, I attached it to the ironing board and tried to set the iron on it. The iron would not set on the rest. I did not think about the length of the iron (when I purchased the rest). My new iron has cord storage at the end of the iron, and this extends the length a good deal past the area when a "standard sized" iron would set. My advice to anyone who's thinking of buying this product is to measure the iron first, to determine that the iron will fit on the rest.

I recommend this iron rest - it is very simple to install and gives several really useful and needed advantages, compared to ironing board without it.1) The iron rests on it ALMOST horizontally (in a small angle) - which has a couple of advantages, compared to vertical position:I accidentally knocked my previous iron down and broke it, when it was staying vertically on the iron board. The horizontal position of the iron is much more stable and safe;the wire guards around perimeter also help to prevent from such accidents.My iron goes into sleep mode, when it stays in vertical position for several minutes, which is a good safety feature - in case I forgot to turn it off and left,but inconvenient, when I have to wait for it to warm up.2) It adds more free space on the ironing board.

This item works very well, say good bye to irons falling on the floor, melting pins, allot of problems are solved by having somehere to put your iron. Good price, arrives fast, very good iron rest. I would recommend it.

My husband's shirts are long since he is 6'4" tall. There isn't enough room on the ironing board for the shirt and the iron. Another problem is the iron board. It's woggly, and my iron kept falling off when I turned his shirts or pants. This solved the problem. There's room, and because the iron is sitting almost flat, it can't fall on the floor. Wheeeeeeeeee! Love it!!!

love this item I always have my iron with in reach and I no longer have to worry about the dog knocking my iron over :)

Don't be surprised if it doesn't fit your iron...but before you send it back, know that the 'flaps' that the iron rests against are very easy to bend. I was initially ticked because my iron didn't fit, it would fall forward and lay flat. It looks just like the one on the package, so I was unimpressed. But...once I bent the flaps, it works well.I should also add that end of one of the plastic clamps broke on set up...but it still works. I glued it, even though it really wasn't necessary. So quality is somewhat questionable. But...bottom line is, it works, it gives me extra space on the board, and it the attachment is solid. So 4 stars instead of 3, although I would put it at about 3.5 :).
