Rock Concepts B-Pod Bike Basket

The B-Pod is my first basket purchase. This is also my first review in quite some time. I was hesitant at first to get this or a Ortlieb Plus Handlebar Bag. The size of it is 10"/4" wide from front to back, 10" high or depth of basket, 15" length from side to side. And not only that but it is collapsable from 10" down to 4" on the front of the bike if nothings in it or you wish to store it off the bike somewhere. The demensions were very hard to find online. I decided to go with this purchase after a lengthly web search to see if it would go on. My bike is a bit more different then most.The supports for this basket are great. By attaching 3 sets of velcro wraps so it will hold in place without movement. In my case I was lucky because the lower bezel cant get through the front forks it rests in between them and the velcro is holding it securely in place. Because of this the basket tilts towards me a bit. This basket looks perfectly fit for this bike.The price was right for this and it was shipped and arrived in 3 days over the weekend. Shipped with Amazons Super Saver discount that saved me seven bucks and I must say it got here way faster then I thought it would. I am really surprised how well everything attached with my bike as you can see in the pics I have posted to get a better idea how big it really is. It took some playing to connect it and it really fits nicely. I havent used it yet but I will update this review at a later date if need be. I am really impressed with the size and fit. Now I dont risk any pricey meal bags breaking open on the ride home dangling from the handlebars. If you arent planing on sticking a bowling ball bag or pets inside this then I must recommend it.The reason I took 1 star is although the plastic material seems very sturdy I would not trust it to hold a pet or any more then fifty pounds because there is less then half of an inch of plastice support going around the bottoms edge.

I have been using my basket at AUAB in Qatar for a month or two and have had no problems. Here is what I mainly carry...1-2 uniforms rolled up for the laundry, a 6 pack of coke from the BX, two packs of water from the bus stop, my laptop (10x14" screen), couple bags of groceries. The heaviest thing you will want to carry at once is the two 12 packs of water(500ml bottels). It could hold more, but that much weight in the front makes it difficult to steer. The mount design is well made and I have never had a problem with the basket hitting the the front wheel. If you hit 1-2" bumps, the basket will sometimes open on it's own. It's more of an aggrevation than anything, not dangerous. I saw the flaw as a way to make my bike safer. If you wrap an elastic reflector/safety belt around the basket, it's not going to open till you are ready for it and it makes my bike very visable to approaching night traffic. I'd give the basket a five if the company would improve the latch that holds the basket closed. They should also consider mounting reflective stickers to the front. If you are at AUAB it's a must have product.

I was excited to get a folding basket that I could put away when not in use. Upon delivery, I opened to assemble and the instructions were HORRIBLE. It was basically poorly drawn pictures with no words that I could barely see because the instruction booklet was so small (and I have perfect vision). It took me a long time to figure it all out and when finished, I still couldn't understand how to get the base panel to stick. It folded up every time, so I returned it. If the manufacturer could explain the product better, I might have considered keeping it, but it wasn't functioning properly.

Based on the price, the ease of putting this on my bike, and the basket's appearance, this almost got five stars. But then I used it for the first time, and two issues arose. First: On my way to the grocery store, I collapsed the basket and it was "locked" into place; it popped open twice before I got to the store when I hit bumps/potholes. Second: after I made my first turn, the brake line got caught on the protrusion (where the rack connects to the basket, I think) when I straightened the bike out again, which is just a bit of a hazard! This may be a bike-specific issue, and it was easily resolved, but it's worth mentioning. Driving home with a full basket was great. The basket bounced a bit when I hit bumps, but all in all, I thought it was sufficiently stable, and everything arrived in perfect condition; as other reviewers have mentioned, the divider is a nice feature. So despite two shortcomings (that clearly not everyone is experiencing), I think it still warrants four stars.

from the pic it appears to go on the back rack of a bike - but it doesn't. I like that it is plastic, so if it rains it doesn't get moldy.

I am giving the basket a 4/5 because I broke the hooks when trying to install them. I know someone may find that moronic,but I am a small man and I was quite shocked to have broken BOTH hooks with my hands. However< after that I was able to rig and affix the basket to the rear of the bike. Rather than the front. It works great!. I am very pleased with how it is collapsible and how convenient it is for me to have.

it was very flimsy but a great idea if you're not going to transport anything too heavy. my bike handlebars are too thick for the hook part so i had to return

VERY COOL RIDING IN THE FOLDED CLOSED POSITION WHEN NOT CARRY ANYTING IN IT! AND THEN SO EASY TO POP OPEN! I LOVE THE CONVENIENCE OF RUNNING INTO THE STORE WITH MY POD HANGING ON MY SHOULDER. GENIUS IDEA HAVING DIVIDED COMPARTMENT THAT POPS UP FROM THE BASE TO SEPERATE MY EGGS & FRUIT FROM GETTING CRUSHED FROM HEAVY THINGS LIKE JUICE & MILK DURING THE RIDE. NICE FEATURE TO HANG ON MY REAR RACK AS WELL AS FRONT. MIGHT HAVE A TENDENCY TO SWAY JUST A BIT WITH HEAVY LOAD, BUT THAT IS TO BE EXPECTED WITH ALL THE COOL FEATURES! HOWEVER, VERY NICE THAT THEY GIVE YOU EXTRA VELCRO STRAPS TO SECURE TIGHTLY TO THE HANDLE BARS OR REAR RACK. PICTURES SHOWN DO NOT DO THE B-POD JUSTICE. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT THESE GUYS COME UP WITH NEXT!
