The product description should mention that these plates should not be used in microwave ovens because of the metallic dots on them. Upon trying to reheat an item, it instantly started sizzling and smoking so I immediately shut off the microwave oven. Since I just nuked my morning cup of joe, the oven is still working - whew! I wasn't sure if the microwave was gonna be "toast" until I used it....It's a shame about these plates since they are good quality and look nice. I cancelled the subscription, but not sure if it was too late since the order has already shipped. If so, I'll have to send them back, or keep them separate from microwavable plates ...
