Great Budget-Friendly Chainsaw!
I bought the WEN 4017 Electric Chainsaw and it works great! It’s lightweight, easy to use, and perfect for cutting small trees and branches. What I Like:Powerful Motor: It cuts through wood easily with its 16-inch chain.Lightweight: It’s easy to handle and doesn’t tire me out.Auto-Oiling: Keeps the chain oiled so it runs smoothly.Easy to Use: The chain tension can be adjusted without any tools. No Gas: It’s electric, so I don’t have to deal with gas or fumes. What I Don’t Like:It has a cord, so you’ll need an extension cord to move around. You have to buy oil separately.Overall, this is a great chainsaw for the price and perfect for light yard work. I highly recommend it!

excelent saw for the price
I received my 16' saw in 2 days, well packed. After unpacking I filled the bar oil reservoir and ran the saw motor without the bar for approximately 4 min, this was to check for oil flow the tank to the discharge hole located just above the bar attachment bolt. Oil began to flow properly. My reason for this was that I had the 3 days prior returned one that the oiler pump was not functioning. After discussing this with the manufacture tech support I was told to return it to amazonThat being said I did and reordered another. 2 days later I received the new saw and all is well. The saw works perfectly and delivers a clean trouble free cut on a red oak stump. I have 2 gas powered saws but wanted an electric one for local to the house, trouble free, no gas, and lighter weight. This saw fits the bill and at a very reasonable price. If it should ever fail I will buy another just like this one.

Works fine, longevity to be determined
Works well so far. Delivery was delayed for a week but it was fairly easy to assemble. This is a wen 18inch version and seems to have plenty of power. The chain stops instantly when trigger is released. Does not appear to be variable speed. It’s either on at full speed or stopped. I like the blade scabbard.

Pretty good low-cost chainsaw!
For how little I spent on this, I was quite happy with its performance! The chainsaw has plenty of power and it does a great job! I only have two complaints, the first being that it’s a corded chainsaw, so you have to drag a cord around wherever you go. But I knew this when I bought it, so that doesn’t count against the product. The second is that there’s no emergency brake, which every chainsaw I’ve ever used prior to this has had. This might be because it’s electric- the chain stops pretty soon after letting your finger off the trigger. But if the saw were to kick back and the chain were still running, there’s a guard but no brake to instantly stop the chain. Again, I’m not sure how critical that is on a chainsaw like this, but it’s good to know.Being an electric chainsaw, it’s nice to only have to supply bar and chain oil and not gas as well. Also, it’s more maneuverable as it’s smaller than a comparable gas chainsaw. Not to mention it’s much quieter, the noise is much less objectionable than a gas chainsaw, and there’s no exhaust to breathe. The chain tensioning mechanism is toolless and like every chainsaw needs periodic tensioning, but I found it to be better than expected at holding the tension.I bought this because of its low cost to help me take a stump out, which is pretty abusive work for a chainsaw. So far it performed quite well! And I wasn’t planning on keeping it around once the job was done, but it’s not a half bad tool! In my experience, Wen builds decent quality tools at an affordable price (I have a few pneumatic nailers from them that I’ve used extensively, and also like.) I would certainly recommend this chainsaw as a good quality low-cost option!

Great chainsaw, electric or not
This thing is great! It's plenty big and mean and will do the job of any gas chainsaw...assuming you have a long enough cord. I cut through a 30+ inch dried out, rock-hard oak tree in several places and it was still keen to keep going. The mechanism for attaching the blade is pretty awkward to put together out of the box, but in the end it works well enough. Tightening the chain is easy, but you do end up having to adjust it pretty often. The motor is very powerful so it does still vibrate like a gas saw and it can be loud, but not as loud as gas. Do be warned, you will have to add your own bar and chain oil, it does not come with any. The oil did leak from the cap a little bit, but I didn't have any other problems with the oil. I couldn't tell that it gets hot and I never had to worry about over working it (again - oak!). The best part was the instruction booklet - unpack "with the help of a friend or trustworthy foe" haha!

Worked fine for what I needed and didn't break the bank!
Reasonably priced (aka cheap but not cheaply made!) easy to set up and it worked very well cutting down a pretty sizable limb that came down.

Works Great! Good Product for the Price!
Cuts through hard ash branches nicely. This is more for smaller trees or to condense (felled) limbs and this saw is actually not designed to cut through very wide tree trunks or branches.Be careful not to install the chain backwards!Highly recommend!

A nice little chainsaw and MUCH easier to use than a gas version
I bought this saw to replace my gas powered chainsaw. I was just tired of messing around with the small gas engine after it sits for a few months. No mixing of fuel or pulling on the starter cord, just plug in and it goes. I chose a corded model because I was skeptical of the rechargeable battery versions. It would be a drawback if I wanted to take it to the woods, but I don't. I have a larger property (300' x 150') and I can get pretty much everywhere I need to be with a 100' extension cord. I used this saw to cut down and cut to 8' lengths almost 2 tons (3900 pounds) of Siberian Pea Shrubs with diameters from 2 - 5 inches. I also used it to cut down and cut up a cherry tree with a 12 inch trunk. It is as powerful as a comparable gas saw. The chain tension is easy to adjust using controls on the side. No wrench needed. My only suggestion would be to have a chain brake, but with proper protective gear it's a minor concern. It will leak chain oil if stored with the reservoir full, so empty it when not in use. A great little saw.
