Genuine Handmade Vintage Leather Bound Journal with Lock For Men Women Large Blank Pages hand embossed dnd book shadow

After looking at tons of embossed leather journals on Amazon, and reading reviews of products that looked nothing like the store's provided images, I was worried when I place this order. Even though I knew I didn't want to spend more than $20, I still wanted a quality journal!Upon opening the package, I caught a slight scent of a leather tannery, and as I slid the journal out and saw the deep indentations of the dragon on the leather, my worries faded away! This journal looks just like the pictures, and it feels like a good quality leather, thick and supple!Word of warning though: the handmade paper is very textured, which makes precise sketching difficult. The paper is also deceptively thick, since it depresses easily, I don't think I'll be able to use both sides. Additionally, for the perfectionists out there, there was a leather stain mark on the first page and there are small gaps between the page bindings. To me however, these details were all part of the handmade charm of this item, and altogether, this was exactly what I was looking for!

So if you are looking for some high tech manufactured book to journal from... this ain't it. I personally like this book. It is hand made and for those of you who can make one... you know how much work it requires. The leather is real. The paper is real and recycled which means as long as you take care of this book, it will last a very long time. no bindings to rot. My suggestion... after a while put some mink oil on it and buff it up. Cleans up nicely and will condition the leather. Just like boots or your sofa, condition the leather every once in a while and it will be very nice much longer than the commercial mass produced books you get in book stores AND ITS A FRACTION of the price.

My husband bought me this for our paper anniversary because I had it saved. I love the look of it and the pages are sewn in and the leather work is beautiful, but there are a couple of faults. The latches seem very loose like they will fall off easily and then there is the stone... The reason I saved this journal. Because in the picture, it looks like a fiery orange and that's what caught my eye. So you can imagine, when I opened it and it was a very dull, cloudy yellow. Like plastic topaz. Lucky for me, that is my birthstone, otherwise, I would have been upset. Still not as advertised.

The notebook looks better in picture than in person. The material looks cheap and thin. You can see some white stuff from the binding stitches which tells you it's not leather. The locks are taller than then thickness of the notebook, so they lift up one side of the book for about half a centimeter on a flat surface.The paper in this journal is very thick and stiff. It definitely has some vintage look. It holds fountain pens very well.Given the craftsmanship, I wouldn't recommend giving it as a gift to anyone.

I really like how small this is, it’s not too small and not too big either. It’ll be perfect for me to take on my travels and have some inspired sketching! I did notice their was rusting on the medal binding clips, but I figured it kinda adds to a more rustic medieval kind of look. So its actually kinda free on me, sketching with my sketch pencils is honestly a blast with this journal. You make mistakes and they erase better then sketchbooks I’ve bought that are “higher quality” or from Barnes and noble... the quality of the paper is as well like a thin type of canvas which I also really love (:

Product stated lined paper, came back to check and the product discription had been completely changed. They even added new pictures, lol. One of which was the product with blank paper. Sneaky Sneaky! Other than that, which isn't the biggest deal, it's super nice and cool looking. The leather is nice and the embossed dragon is well done. The clasp works well. I was gonna return and try to see if they had lined ones, but apparently someone tried and got sent the exact same one, haha.

PERFECT! I am a regular amazon user. I’ve had the pleasure to try all sorts of products from , sold , or from third party. This item was a good price. The material lives up to its description. I even love the smell which goes with that old book look. I didn’t count the pages because I love it. From the look it’s enough pages for me. I did paint the top jewel black. So that it wouldn’t be two pink stones. Another review said the same thing. So I followed her advice.

Although this is still a beautiful journal, I am greatly disappointed in the "stone". It looks like a large jelly bean has been melted to my book. The reason I picked this journal, over the others in my wish list, was the fiery orange stone. My heart sank when I saw a cloudy piece of plastic with brown stain flecked on it.The inside seems bound tightly, I haven't tested the paper for bleeding, but the texture and thickness is appropriate. I'm still deciding if I will keep it, or if the contents will be soured by my disappointment of the stone everytime I pick it up.

I purchased several versions of these leather journals and while all of them were very nice, this is my personal favorite. The stones are bright and colourful and really « pop »! This brand takes a bit longer to arrive than some of the others that are available, but if you have time this one is worth the wait.

Great quality for the price and easy to use with quill and ink. Which is perfect for one of my D&D character's spell books. The only issue I have is that one of the closers wasn't finished off properly and need to be ground down to make less rough however it's still functional even if you don't grind it down

Very nicely put together. It has the vintage style with the modern craftsmanship. I was shocked in a good way as to how beautiful this notebook truly is. I recommend this to anyone!!

Leather is very, very thin and there was a scrawled in pen inventory number on the inside of the cover.
