This was a replacement. I really like the product.
This mount specifically fits my needs. It was a replacement because my phone was acting up and I punched it out of frustration. Nothing wrong with the mount it was doing its job, and doing it well.I highly recommend this purchase.

Solid, easy-to-use, phone mount for deep windshields. Perfect for full-sized pickups.
[UPDATE 6/15/17: edit indicated below]This is exactly what I was looking for, so I could put my iPhone in easy view, when using it with my Escort radar detector, in my Chevy truck. On my Avalanche, the base of the windshield it a good distance from the edge of the dashboard. Also, the top surface of my dashboard is pebbled, which make it impossible for any kind of sticky-mount to adhere to it. This meant that I had to have a sturdy mount that would mount as low as possible on the windshield, so as to not interfere with my view, have an easy release, and yet be long enough to put my iPhone within reach. Other mounts were either flimsy or were not long enough. One was even configured so that it had to be mounted several inches above the bottom of the windshield. This mount:1) is Very Sturdy. I mounted it as close to the dashboard as possible, bent the mount down to touch the dashboard, near the front. Then I slid the dashboard brace into place. The opposing forces of the mount bar pushing down and brace holding it up, makes the iPhone remain very solid, even on rough roads and when I make sharp turns.2) Due to its length, it mounts so far down on the windshield that it only blocks the view of my hood.3) Enables easy, one-handed attachment and release of my iPhone. I rotate the mount so that the release button is up. This allows me to mount the iPhone in landscape position. When I put the phone into the holder, I just press down on the top clamp. You might want to put a very small piece of any kind of tape (electric tape, masking tape, etc.) on your dashboard, to protect the area where the other side of the clamp would be pushing down, when you press the clamp. It holds the iPhone firmly. To release the iPhone, I just press the button and the clamp opens. As mentioned above, I can do both with one hand.[UPDATE 6/15/17: It occurred to me that pressing the clamp down against the dashboard might mar the dashboard, over time. So I attached a 1.5 inch long piece of weather-strip tape WJ Dennis & Company 203 Wide Gap Vinyl Foam Tape, 3/8-Inch x 1/4-Inch x 17-Foot, Vinyl, Grey to the side of the clamp that touches the dashboard. Now, when I press down on the clamp, to close it against the iPhone 6+, I'm pressing the other side of the clamp against the dashboard, through foam tape, that won't mar the dashboard. Being between the mount and the dashboard, this tape is barely visible and has the added feature of further stabilizing the phone mount. (see photo)]4) Places my iPhone immediately above my radio controls (see photos). I can see who is calling, with a glance, without ever really taking my eyes off the road. I can respond to radar warnings and send alerts to the cloud, via the Escort app, without having to reach or glance more than a few degrees from straight ahead. Of course, I can also easily follow maps, when using GPS to find some place where I have never been. I can actually reach the iPhone, while my thumb is still on the steering wheel. OK. I have big hands. If you have a deep windshield, such as on a full-sized pickup or a car that has a long sloped windshield, then this mount should be an ideal solution. [UPDATE 6/15/17: Due to the fact that motorhome windshields tend to be further from the driver than most car windshields, the length of this mount makes it ideal for mounting on either the windshield or side window of a motorhome.]

Pretty good mount
I have literally bought 6 different "dash mounts" for my car. Each one claiming to stick to the dash. I have even tried the sticky tack hack to make them work. Each one has failed within 6 months of use. I have come to realization that unless I want to permanently adhere the mount to my dash with super glue, I am going to need to use a window mount phone older. My issue is that I have I deep dash on my Truck and most window mounts won't reach far enough out. Also, I really didn't want to have a big phone mount blocking my vision. So, I tried this mount, hoping the extension bar will solve my problem. So far it did. The extension bar is made of THICK metal, and while it does bend it doesn't flex much. The added extension pad is nice to. This allowed me to mount the suction to my window and then mount the pad to the edge of my Dash and have the phone be hanging over the edge.My only complaint is that the actual phone mount sits really high. The extension bar doesn't attach at the top or middle of the phone bracket, but at the bottom portion. which puts the phone higher than I wanted. But, other than that the mount has worked very well, and I was able to keep the mount far down against the dash portion of my windshield.

Excellent large smartphone holder with a couple of issues for me.
I really wanted this to end my search for the perfect large heavy smartphone holder for Dash or Window mounting. This is almost perfect. The phone holder utilizes a red button to expand the grip so you can squeeze the holder sides to grip your phone. Only issue is that the place for the grip contacts my power button so that the phone wants to turn off. If my phone didn't have the power button where is does, I would really like this enough to keep it. It has one other slight issue in that the windshield-Dash arm is not long enough for use with my Honda Insight and Toyota Prius. These cars have a long sloping windshield and the arm needs to be about 8-12 inches longer to be within arm's reach of the driver. These issues are because of my needs an may not be a consideration for other buyers. This would be perfect in my Tundra but I already have a floor mount phone holder as that is the strongest and most immune to phone/tablet weight and road vibration. So this could be a 5 start holder for others out there with different phones and automobiles.

Perfect...After a Couple Modifications
Works fantastic after a couple modifications. This is the second holder I purchased. The first one only lasted a few months before the tension knob broke off. The problem I had was the weight of my cell phone exceeded the ball & cup friction which is how the mount is positioned. As the mount kept drooping due to the phone's weight, I kept tightening the ball/cup lock nut until it completely snapped off. Once I ordered the second unit, I positioned the ball/cup mount where I wanted it and then used a flexible adhesive in the ball cup to increase the friction and prevent the drooping. It worked and now I make minor adjustments by adjusting the bend in the arm and not the ball/cup which is now locked in place. The second modification I made was adding a urethane pad under the dash support mount replacing the glue pad that came with the item. I got the urethane pads on Amazon and they work perfectly. They stay flexible and absorb vibrations when driving. They're about 3" in diameter and are a great "upgrade" for this phone mount. Now that I have the unit "debugged," I couldn't be happier with it.

Just right
This product works great once you get it to stick in place. Gives me easy access to my phone especially when using the map function while driving.
