I bought this to create a Raspberry Pi-powered photo frame. I wanted something that would look like a normal photo frame - no backlight to distract - but would allow me to enjoy more of my photos.The box came with almost everything you need to get started - I just needed to hook up a Pi. Note it does need reasonable power when changing the display and I found I had been using a power supply with the Pi that was only just enough for the Pi. A good quality Anker USB charger made all the difference.This was delivered from outside the UK but didn't take too long to come. Mine was slightly bent because of a damaged package - odd since the packaging is good - but support was very helpful and explained how to try to flatten it.There is good information on the Wiki on how to use it - but it's probably not for absolute beginners. There is good sample code which I compiled and then just adjusted for my very limited needs. I haven't played with the partial update or high speed refreshes.It comes with a small logic board that I assumed was only to allow an extension of the panel's short connector with another ribbon cable. However my screen will not work without the extension - no idea why but just a hint for anyone else who might have the same experience.
