Really good strings
These strings are really good. The D string is a little thicker than the average 10-52 set. They are a little quieter when playing unplugged. They also have this slight sticky feeling to them. But that could just be me. I’ve seen a few reviews stating string breakage. I’m playing on an evertune guitar and have had zero issues. The strings on an evertune are slightly tighter so that’s a good sign they didn’t snap.

A value for the incredible longevity
These strings have a slightly different feel than a traditional uncoated string, so they take a little getting used to, but the longevity is amazing. After a few weeks of playing, I have gotten accustomed to the feel and am pleased that the required string changes are so infrequent. The tone is slightly different than a traditional string, but this is a small tradeoff for the incredibly long life. I would describe the tone as less metallic and less resonant. With traditional strings, I can get 5 star tone for about 1 week but I can get 4.5 star tone for months out of these. These are the only strings that I buy and the only reason that I would buy traditional strings wlould be for applications when absolute best sound quality is required (big time recording session or something of that nature). Even though the price per pack is higher, these strings are a value and are great for home use, bar gigging and almost every other situation.

Love them so far - slick and smooth
I have been playing guitar since around 1984. I've used Ernie Ball strings since around 1990. Now and then I try a different brand just to see if I like them. Last year I bought an acoustic guitar that came with Elixeelr coated strings and I really liked them so I figured I'd give these a try on electric. I just swapped them tonight and do far I really like them. They do not sound exactly like my usual Ernie Balls but the difference is not massive, maybe a little less zing. But they FEEL great and that matters a lot to me! Now I am just curious to see how long that feel lasts. If this slick feeling lasts a long time (months) I will be a happy customer. I will report back one way or another. BTW, I play hard rock, punk, and some rockabilly on Gibson-stype guitars. *UPDATE* These things stay in tune like crazy! Just played a short show last week and never went out of tune. Same with rehearsals. Love these strings.

I have been using Elixir strings for years...
The recent purchase of an Emerald Virtuo led me to try this set. I've been using Elixir strings on my Acoustics for well over a decade: they last long, sound great, and are comfortable to play. Same with this set for my new electric guitar: I definitely prefer these over what came on the guitar.

THESE STRINGS WERE MADE BY THE HANDS OF GODS
I've been playing guitar for the last eight years of my life and, until a few months ago, I didn't realize I've been playing guitar wrong this entire time. See, my problem was that I wasn't using these Elixir strings. I've gone through a long journey finding the right pack of strings, and I have found the grandest pair of guitar strings that mankind has ever known. These strings changed my life. The first chord I struck on the guitar after putting these on probably set off one of the greatest sounds my ears have ever experienced. And the best part? They kept their tone for the next two months. I play guitar very often, because I'm a boring person and have nothing else to do with myself, and I generally go through good strings in about a month. These strings lasted twice as long and kept their tone the entire duration. It was incredible. I'm thoroughly convinced that these strings are made by the hands of gods, no mere mortal can produce such perfect guitar strings. You don't want the sound of any guitar player. You want the strings with the strength of Zeus and the tone of the utmost majesty. You simply must purchase these strings.

Elixir nails this gauge!
Typically, I play Dean Markley Blue Steels, but this is my Godin LGX-SA, my flagship guitar. So I wanted to do something a little fancier this time around, something that would last longer. I had never thought of using a mixed gauge like this before, but it "feels" great. The tension just fits for the way I play. Yes, I use Drop-D tuning on some songs, but not all. Even if these weren't Elixirs and had the cool coating (which you don't really feel with Nanoweb like you would with Polyweb), I would like these based on the tension. You get a good, easy tension for your lower (high pitch/thinner) strings and you get that nice, meaty tension for your higher (lower pitch/thicker) strings. So in short, these are the great, high quality Elixir strings you've probably heard of, but the gauge of this particular set is just really great.
