Soccer - FIFA World Cup - Vol 1 - 1930 - 1962

I think an elementary school student put this DVD together. Boring boring boring. The editing is crap, the games on screen don't correspond to the written scores on screen, the music is bad, etc.. etc.. etc... I bought the whole package toghether (Volumes 1,2,3,4), and I exchanged them all because I thought mine were just messed up. Well, I got the new ones and they were exactly the same. Unfortunately I got them from another vendor which didn't accept returns, just exchanges so I'm stuck with them.

As you can expect, all movies are old and BW. That I could understand, but the coverage is so incomplete that it becomes a major dissapointment.Very little to show about the 1930 cup; it seems they couldn't obtain good movies so they fill it in with photographs.Coverage for the 1934 and 1938 cups is also poor and very little; the DVD is politically edited, and "forgot" to mention that the Italian team was whistled down for using a fascist greeting in Paris; only their good soccer regained them admiration from the French public.The 1950 coverage is disastreous. Not even all the goals from the classic Brazil-Uruguay match that ended with the crown for Uruguay.The 1954 and 1958 cups are the jewels in this DVD. Good coverage, plenty of soccer to watch, and a good summary.But the coverage of 1962 is bad again; there has been only one corner kick goal in all world cups, and it was scored against one of the best goalkeepers ever, and this DVD doesn't even show it.

Obviously, people who put this together wanted to do it quickly...A narrator with a boring voice, poorly written text and you feel no enthusiasm, no love, no excitation.. Such a pity, with a competent group that loves the game this could have been a beuatiful thing to watch... Don't waste your money!

Was going to purchase all these DVD'S but thanks to the reviews I haven't. My partner would have been so upset if they are as bad as you say they are. Thanks Guys!
