The Pilgrim’s Regress

Gotta read this book...Have to check whether it's similar to pilgrim's progress (which I don't think so). Trying out new Christian books-movies-games (gate zero, one of 500) etc.

Mixing Bunyan's allegory about Christian's journey to the Celestial City with Swift's savage satirical look at humans, Lewis takes potshots at Industrialisation, Communism, Psychoanalysis & other fads of twentieth century to write this book.

If you have read Bunyan's The Pilgrims Progress this will be quite relevant. If you have not, then you many find it less so. It is pure allegory and worth the time to read it. You will see yourself in the pages...

Before reading this book, I’d heard a lot about how it was one of Lewis’s worst books, and how it really wasn’t that great. I am a huge Lewis fan, so I decided that I needed to read it anyway. I had just read A Pilgrim’s Progress, and was disappointed with how rigid that allegory was. This was completely different, and so much better. While it is clear that this is an early work from Lewis, it is still an extremely engaging story. Lewis does a wonderful job of weaving together his own faith journey into an engaging story about how the mind moves through various views towards Christianity. I highly recommend this book, especially to fans of Lewis.

One of my favourite C S Lewis books. If you haven't read it, it's time you did. A mix of the Narnia books, Surprised by Joy, and so many of his non fiction stuff.I would recommend this to anyone with enough intelligence to understand it!
