Awesome upgrade over stock/oem
The oem pump and impeller are plastic so this aluminum one I purposely sought out to get because the cooling system on my built engine needs to be as robust as possible and plastic won't be good enough for my piece of mind.

Decided to give cheap parts a try and ended up screwing my engine over:( please do your research on brands for these German engines, they are very delicate and any bad part can and will ruin your car!

Good so far
I installed this water pump on my 2012 Mini Cooper S, which had 144,498 miles, on 8/17/2023, and it has been functioning without any leaks. Previously, I replaced the original water pump with an HT water pump from ECS Tuning, but it only lasted two years and 25,000 miles before it started leaking. For this installation, I decided to experiment with the cheapest compatible water pump available on Amazon. I will provide an update if it fails in the future.Update: 1/3/2025 – My Mini now has nearly 154,000 miles, and the water pump is still leak-free.

Worked perfectly!
I bought this for a 2011 Mini Cooper with a definitive leak at my factory water pump. Although it is not an easy install since it is so tight in there, this product worked perfectly! No leaks and engine cooling as required.

Failed after 4 months
The title is really a little misleading. I installed the pump while I was rebuildng the top end of the engine and didn't start driving it as a daily until about a month ago. While it looked solid out of the box I would not recommend that you install this part. Buyer beware
