According to everything I've read about the mower this solenoid is the most likely electrical part except for batteries to go bad over time. Switches and fuses will also go bad but they haven't for me. The solenoid reportedly gets internal corrosion over time or get shorted out from incorrect voltage. Typically, this is the third replacement solenoid for me. They don't last forever. Original lasted two years, first replacement lasted a year, second replacement lasted 4 years. They last longer if the mower is kept in a shelter where moisture can't get to it and the battery is not allowed to go dead nor become overcharged.I always make sure the solenoid feet have a good electrical connection to the chassis, use some anti corrosion gel on them too. Solenoid can be tested. There are some good You Tube videos on the subject.

These match the OEM number, they're easy to install and they work well - until they don't. They seem to last about a year & a half here in Fla so have a spare on hand.
