Walnut Hollow Country Antler Mount & Display Kit, Oak , Brown

With the cost of everything through the rood now, it is nice to find a product that is affordable and of great quality. The wooden plaque is very pretty and is heavy duty. It came with everything you would need to put your antler mount together and it look great. The velvet cap is a pretty shade of tan, the braided ropes are nice, and it comes with the hangers, tacks and screws. I can't be anymore happy than I am.

This kit is really nice. It has everything you need to make a nice looking mount. I bought 2 of these for my whitetail deer antlers. Materials are high quality and easy to work with. One thing I think could use improvement would be the tacks that hold down the velvet cover. Either they were poor quality or not a good choice for this wood. I had a really hard time hammering them in without bending them badly. I also thought the gold cord braid was too "beefy", at least for my antlers. I unbraided them and used a single gold cord for the base trim work. I think it looks better that way. I will definitely be purchasing this kit again if I ever have more antlers to mount.

Much nicer then my other mounts. I do love the fact that it's real oak. Looks good on the wall.

The finished product was beautiful; it was a slow slow process in cutting out for the horns. The measurements were not that useful for my mount. The plaque was nice; wood grain nice and mounting hardware good. Very satisfied

Most everything is good except the cord to tie around antlers they are too thick. I had to take one strand off of the three that's together so it wouldn't cover the antlers then you can't burn this type so ends don't unravel. Had to use piece tape which it tells you but it's harder to do and don't look as good. Wood is nice and leather that goes in middle is good thick stuff.

This is an affordable way to mount deer racks. It is very nice looking and more affordable than having a professional do it.

I’d ordered another kit and discovered it was plastic. This one is real wood, and a nice cover piece. The cover is a little hard to cut, but once you’ve got it started it’s not too bad. I didn’t measure, I just held the cover to the horns and marked then cut small, tested and trimmed until the fit was good. All told it took maybe 20-30 minutes to complete.

The wood has a nice finish and is not over-sized. The velvet finished skull cover is not good. It is too small and the velvet finish on the rubber is junk. I was able to closely fit the skull cover to the antlers but by the time I was finished the velvet had cracks and some missing sections. I therefore removed all of the velvet and was left with a brown rubber which looks pretty good. I did not need the gold braiding as I had carefully fit the cover to the antlers. It took some work but the finished job looks good.

It has directions but I just eyeballed it and it worked. The golden lace has three parts interwoven that Frey when you cut it to size. I just tucked the freyed part behind the antler and used a hit glue gun to secure it in place. When cutting the velvet, cut a little and then try it on each time so you don't too much. Due it slow. The velvet is thick and stiff so I used tinsnips. Have fun!

The product came packaged very well but when I removed the individual items, the antler mounting cover, screws, and pins were shipped in the same bag. The screws and pins damaged the antler mounting cover and there were deep gouges on the exterior surface of the AMC. I emailed Walnut Hollow Country with my concerns but did not receive a reply. The oak shield is well made and good quality. I have returned this product and requested a replacement in hopes the replacement is not damaged.

Nice back board but the skull cap is miserable to work with just not nice material to cut with a knife but with some fighting I got a fair mount
