I am in the middle of dry January and I am enjoying it so much that may just be a permanent change. I was a pretty heavy drinker. Not every day, but when I did, it was usually heavy. Compound that with a break up of three years, and my anxiety was through the roof. I wasn’t sleeping well either to make matters worse. A book I was reading recommended this supplement to help with getting my serotonin levels right. Your body won’t make melatonin without it and stress / sobriety has my levels all messed up. This stuff has made a world of difference. My mood is more even. My sleep has improved dramatically. It really has been a game changer. This stuff is strong. There are contradictions with this so do your homework. You cannot take this with another antidepressant. It could become life threatening. It really helps. The pills are small and easy to swallow. For the past 8 years since I was 14, I have been on more than one medication for anxiety disorder and severe depression. Last month my doctor put me on a new medication since Prozac stopped working for me. It was a nightmare. I had awful side-effects like nose bleeds, bruising, vivid dreams, and I had many sad moments. 4 weeks into them and I wasn't seeing myself getting better. I got off them after I had a breakdown and I spoke with my doctor that I was going to go the natural route because I really am tired of medications. I started taking this 4 days ago and already I feel small changes. I still have mini episodes of sadness but I am able to bounce right back. And my sleep, oh my goodness it is wonderful! Unfortunately it doesn't cover anxiety as much so am going to look for another natural supplement for that. For now, this stuff is wonderful and has truly given me hope and lifted my spirits. I now have confidence that I can beat depression and not let it get the best of me.

I've been ordering these for years and find the quality and effectiveness to be good for the price. I take 2 a day and it really makes a difference in my mood. No noticeable side effects or sleepiness from taking these. No problems with digestion either. They are small enough to take easily and are tasteless. I have also tried the chewable 5 HTP from Natural and it works well too.

This supplement was recommended to me by my therapist after being diagnosed with Major Depression earlier this year. She had initially recommended i look into prescription mood stabilizers, but that is definitely not the route i wanted to go. It has really helped me gain control of my mental processes so i can manage them in a healthy way. It is very mellow and subtle, but i do feel it could be easy to build a tolerance. i typically only take 1-2 (100mg) of these after breakfast during the work week and take a break from them on the weekend. I like the 100mg option bottle over the 200mg so i can have a little flexibility on the days that i feel more in charge of my mood (the bottle recommends max 200/day, i believe). Definitely don't take these on an empty stomach and an achey headache may occur but will subside quickly especially the more water you drink. Make sure to conduct research of your own on what exactly this does when introduced in your body to make sure it addresses what you need it to address (if this is for mood stabilizer) since there may be other supplements out there that can better suit what you want-my brother has found more success with a GABA pill over this one, for example.

Started taking it and after 5 days of 1 tablet before sleep everyday, on day 5 my stomach felt really bad and started throwing up badly.
