It is exactly what I was looking for.
I'm not a gymnast! I need more excercise. It is firm enough you can keep balance and some give so you don't feel like you are on wood or concrete. I've done some planks and basic stretching on it. I'm overweight in my 40's with back problems. I needed a firmer mattress. I first noticed relief when on camping trips sleeping on my thermarest inflatable pad. It's works for camping but at home I wanted something better. At 5'10 and 230 pounds I can assure you that this foam mattress is dense material. I can jump up and down on top and there is minimal compression of the mat. My teenage son compared it to being like the ones in his high school. It might not be perfect for everyone but I am glad I did not listen to the negative reviews. I did not feel like I was on a hard floor. There is no velcro snagging on anything. It takes about the same space as a folded up patio lounger when not in use. My back has already experienced a release of some lower spinal issues that frequently cause me pain.If I had one complaint it would cosmetic issues with how some of the edges were lined up when the seams were sewn. The stitching appears solid but it isn't the prettiest. The price and quality of the product in my opinion more than offsets the small cosmetic blemish that is hidden under the bottom of the mat as I sleep on top of it.I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I have owned it less than a week and don't use it for it's intended purpose. I am very happy with my purchase. I hope my review is helpful to others who might be on the borderline of buying it or not. I was worried about some of the negative reviews I had read.

Poor Construction -- UPDATE 01.26.22
Product is thick foam pad (which I wanted) with a thin, cheap vinyl covering (which nobody wants). I say "cheap" because it already had a 3 inch tear in it when I opened the box. I realized that I could repair it myself with some quality electrical tape, but I still applied for a return, since I don't think a $60 item should need tape repair out of the box. While waiting for the return paperwork, I decided to use the mat for my workout, which consists of 30-45 minutes of lying on my back & side and stretching -- i.e., nothing particularly vigorous. After 3 sessions, I noticed that the seams were beginning to fray and split. When I went to return it, the directions stated I could use any carrier I choose, but return expenses were my responsibility. I chose FedEx -- the lowest estimated return shipping fee was $90! Needless to say, I declined the return option. At this point, I plan to continue to use the product for another 3-4 workouts and hope it doesn't totally disintegrate before I can find a better exercise mat. Disappointing.UPDATE 01.26.21In the spirit of fairness, I decided to provide an update on the status of this product. As I mentioned in my original posting, I was mildly disappointed with what appeared to be shoddy construction materials -- the vinyl covering was torn upon arrival and the seams seemed to be splitting. I was VERY disappointed at the customer service policy of making the expense of a return of the product the consumer's responsibility, and I ultimately declined to incur that expense. However, after using the product for my daily exercises for the past several months, I am pleased to report that it has served me well. The tear in the vinyl didn't expand (even tho I didn't bother to tape it over) nor did the "splitting seams" worsen. Overall, it has held up well and the key features for which i purchased it -- thick foam (about 2 inches), light weight, easy portability, and simple storage (it folds up) -- have proven to be very satisfying. In conclusion, I am happy with this product, and would consider purchasing another, but I recommend that the company develop a more customer-friendly return policy. Unless there are a lot of return requests (which should be a red flag), the company should just plan to absorb the occasional cost and keep customers happy.

LOTS of cushion
2 inches thick, and my 250lb body can't get it to compress more than 1 inch, and thats with almost all of my weight on one elbow. I can lay it flat on my concrete driveway and standing on it, I feel nothing but supportive cushioning. It just feels perfect for floor exercises. The cushion feel is firm and supportive- just right. It feels like a very high quality closed-cell foam. And the pleather cover feels very durable. I'm propped up on my elbow on the mat laying on concrete as I write this, and I could stay in this position forever. The cushion really is quite amazing. You will NOT be disappointed in the cushioning at all. I read some complaints about the handles, but they seem like they're sewn in nicely to me.I bought it for $59.99, but it feels like they could charge twice that amount and you would still be happy with it.

Extremely Smelly! VOC warning!
I bought this mat because the description says it has no toxic smell and two reviews also confirm it does not have a bad smell. WRONG! As soon as I opened the box, the strong vinyl/plastic smell nearly knocked me over. I thought this may go away like some other plastic products so I put it next to an open window with a dual exhaust fan running 24/7....A week later, I still can't use it because as soon as I drag it to the living room, the stench will fill up the room in just minutes and I get nausea then followed by a bad headache. There is definitely some strong chemical that's volatile and gassing off. As I am typing now, it's still unusable sitting next to the window with an exhaust fan.Anyone knows how to get rid of that smell?

Just what I needed
Since our gym closed in march due to the lockdown I have struggled to do my exercises for my knee replacement surgery last fall. The floor was too hard and the bed was too soft. This 2" thick, 6'x3' exercise mat gives me enough cushioning to get on the floor and is wide enough to do all stretches without rolling off. I do put a half inch thick yoga mat on top just to allow a softer touch than the vinyl. I am so glad that I made this purchase. It actually even works on top of a bed if getting on the floor is not an option for you.
