Learning Curve
These casings worked great for breakfast sausage. It was my first time using sheep casings so there was a learning curve. You cannot stuff these as tightly as a hog casing or they will break as the sheep casings are thinner (which I appreciated in the end because they are easy to chew). I had some breakage until I stopped stuffing so tightly and they worked great after that. I did what some people mentioned in the reviews and put them in a bowl of warm water for a couple hours before I tried to untangle and rinse. They did stink in the warm water, but once I rinsed them inside and out the odor went away. I then left them in a bowl of clean salt water until I used them (another hour). It is hard to open the ends, but I guess that is to be expected with a casing this small. The sausage came out great and the casings are very tender. I would definitely use them again.

First time stuffing sausage
I received high approval ratings from friends and family for the sausages. I was afraid I would mess up, but they threaded on the sausage horn very easily. I will definitely buy them again. The texture, and functionality was great. Experienced sausage makers were impressed the sausages were perfectly formed and filled.

Soft and rotten...
I did returned both LEM products all ready, packed both those 2 items in one vacuum package. So, you should have received one package, but it was containing both (2) LEM products. The reason to it: since I did have open up both 2 packages, but to return it to sender, I was not able "vacuum-pack-close" the original plastic bags again, and I did not wanted to send back liking pouches. That is the reason for that I vacuum packed bot products in a 1 typical kitchen vacuum pouch pack.Arrived in time, worthless, not usable, soft like Nivea cream... Cost me a lot of money, throwed away 40 Lb grounded meat. I am stupid as I was depend on this shipment with no backup. Never again!Free return is not free as UPS store clerk charged for packing??? Why? Amazon instruction was "take the defective product and relevant printout to the nearest UPS store and the store will do packing, no charge." Something wrong here!!!

Good
Some of the casings were riddled with little holes and kept tearing but most were great. Made breakfast sausage with them.

Old School Cuisine
A must for home sausage making! There were many more casings than I needed in the package, but it worked for me.

NATURAL CASINGS
Warm water works best. You'll need to rinse both the inside and out of the casing and soak at least 30 minutes or until the casing are pliable. This product is 100% natural sheep casings intestine. Works good for snack sticks and sausage links. You'll need to place the unused casing in a sealable container, cover with salt and place in the refrigerator for up to 1 year. If the casing show black spotting or have an ammonia smell they have gone bad and should be thrown out.

Smell was vile, came in a giant knot
The quality and strength seem fine, but be aware that when you open the package, you may never want to eat sausage again. The smell was VILE. But, I can understand this, since it is intestine packed in brine. What was annoying was that it came in a giant slimy knot.... Like disgusting Christmas tree lights. I hope this turns out better than it has started out.

If you try to stick with the health laws these are for you.
Unlike others this is a product of the USA as the package I received declares although I was expecting them to be from New Zealand as that wouldn't be a problem for me and that's what it shows in the picture on the description.who knows what you'll be getting from China. As most others I've seen out there are from or do not list.I stuffed a little over 14 pounds of brisket and had about 10 casings left or so. So I feel the rating on the package of 15 pounds is more than accurate.Haven't stuffed in about 20 years. A few casings had holes in them however I think that's to be expected nothing that I would call excessive and I didn't find it to be a problem. I'm certainly no expert I have may be only stuffed 50 pounds in my lifetime and I'm in my forties that being said.I had really no issues with these casings at all just let them soak really well and you should be fine. I choose to use cold water instead of warm as the package had called for and had let them soak about an hour after a thorough rinsing and slightly warm water from my reverse osmosis that I warmed up in the microwave. The ones I received have no odor if you get some that do as a few others have complained about I would suggest returning them. These are basically breakfast link and snack sticks size and perfect for homemade hot dogs. As they have and excellent snap.I will be purchasing some more once hunting season has passed and the price drops a bit.
