Couldn't have been happier!
I rarely am moved to write a review. And usually the passion comes from finding displeasure in something. This Fall Protection Bucket far exceeded my expectations based on the price. I'm a rock climber and usually just rig something from climbing gear for projects, but this was a big roof project and I wanted to try the real deal. For less than the price of a skimpy climbing harness you get a nice sturdy length of rope with very burly and yet easy to use hardware. A very solid harness that, although it took me awhile to figure out how to make the one size fits most fit me, ended up quite comfortable. I felt safe and secure all day. Everything you need is in the box including the choice of nails or screws to attach the anchor! Only downside is I probably have 5-10 more days up on the roof to get that thing redone! At least I'll stay safe....

Essential for steep froofs
I just removed a chimney from a 12/12 aka 45 degree roof using this fall protection system. It ended with having to abort and cover everything due to rain, and this became absolutely essential. A few notes:1) Get a permanent double-ended fall protection anchor if you plan to use this kit long-term. Get the Guardian one, not the Werner one from Home Depot. The Guardian one has built-in butyl tape that seals the holes.2) The rope grab works super well even if wet. However, you should always only use this system for fall restraint where you limit yourself from falling over any edges. The system will catch you if you fall over an edge, but you should look up and understand suspension trauma to understand why this is bad.3) The kit does not include foot stirrups to relieve suspension trauma. So if you fall over an edge, you’re looking at a fire department rescue that needs to happen within 20-30 minutes or you could have serious medical issues.4) Use the nails. They seem sketchy compared to screws, but they are long and penetrate into more wood than shorter screws. Of course, 4.5” high strength screws would be ideal.5) I used my anchor to help get traction on a 45 degree roof. This is probably not advised as you have to weight the anchor on purpose. However, it worked extremely well even while it was raining. That said, if you have a 12/12 roof, you have an old house, and you should add metal Stimpson Strongties to the rafter wood at any joints before installing any fall protection anchor on that truss. Old rafters are not engineered trusses.

Worked well for diy roofing repair
I am not a professional roofer, I am just a regular guy who had the audacity to fix his own dormer leak. It's good to get out of your comfort zone if you understand you can definitely hurt yourself if you make a mistake!I read the directions and followed them exactly. I worked on my dormers for a whole weekend then a week after work, many hours on a steep pitch. The harness and rope worked as advertised, I was using it to hold my body weight as I worked in awkward positions. I did not have any slips or falls and I felt confident that I was doing the job in a safe way. Be sure to caulk your "anchor" holes after removing it at the end of the job. OR buy a different anchor that can be left in. Just an option. My wife said that the flame logo on the back of the harness was a sexy "tramp stamp" she's hilarioussss.

review left after 30 days. No issues great value.
The item arrived undamaged in a 5 gallon bucket with a lid. All the contents inside were undamaged and functioned as it should. I added another home to our portfolio and the roof is a 8.5/12 pitch which I would normally climb without a harness but with the height and becoming a new father I took no chances and purchased this kit.I'm 6 ft 210 broad shoulders and the harness fits comfortably without issue. This is my first safety harness I've purchased so I cannot compare it to another brand but for the price value factor it is a great value for a pro or diyer.

My go-to harness for roof and lift work.
As a contractor i am called to do slate roofs at times. The pitch is usually too much for walking. This is a very comfortable rig. And yes, you can hook the ring up ring (it is behind you back in the center of your shoulder blades) to the rope yourself, just pull it down your back. I wear this and then a full tool belt with padded suspenders as well as various other tools hanging off my belt. It is comfortable, and I did it when the roof temperature was 142.5 degrees. The bracket can be mounted at the ridge and moved as you move. The breaking mechanism is fantastic and is easy to use.I have resisted using a harness for decades but having gotten this I am a convert. It beats broken legs.

Your safety is worth the money
Painting high on a steep tin roof. This kit made me feel safe and am certain would have saved me from severe injury if I had fallen. The harness was quick to adjust and put on and take off. Clipping up to the rope with the shackle was easy. The shackle moved up and down the safety rope with one hand operation making it easy to take up slack when needed. The anchor looked a little different that what is pictured and could fit any pitch roof to flat.I won't do work up high without it anymore. I will probably buy some permanent anchors to leave in place on my house for future re-use and maintenance. It all fits in the 5 gallon bucket it came in when done for easy storage.Great product at a very affordable price.

Quality Product
I was skeptical about ordering this off Amazon but the website I was looking at for buying another brand was about $50+ more and I had to put in a credit card which I hate to do. Glad I looked on Amazon and I would buy this over again. It appears to be extremely well made. The harness is a good size for my spouse but I think with winter gear on it will adjust enough for me as well.

Great Item
This system really works great but you must be careful when you get near the peak of the roof . Keep weight on the line at all times or there could ber a slight problem.
