Easy to use NuTan
NuTan was easy to use and gave great results for a first timer. Just know that it’s not a one step process but the included instructions will guide you on what you need to do to get a great hide. I did this coon and I am about to do a goat when the temperatures get lower.

Works well but tanning is a lot of work.
Listen. Tanning hides is difficult and lengthy and involves a lot more than the right equipment. That said, if you are willing to do the work and be diligent, this solution works nicely and doesn't smell dangerously chemical. I used this to tan sheep hides and it made the hides malleable and easy to stretch. Plus the instructions on the manufacturer's website are really detailed and will help you accomplish a good tan if you follow them. I did not remove the hair or try to make buckskin so no reviews on that method.

But be prepared to break or work the leather as is indicated in the instructions.
Still working the project. The NuTan application was easy, soaked in well and has a pleasant smell. The leather has stayed soft. Great product.

Used to re-hyrdate already tanned skins.
Bought this to rehydrate several old timey fur coats and a dried bear skin head that were already previously tanned. I had no idea what I was doing. This is the only professional taxidermy product I've ever bought. As the other reviews state, the customer service was excellent. The directions on the back of the bottle are excellent. I've had a difficult time finding clear and technical directions about my particular project. Most info. I find says, "go to a furrier". I diluted this with water, folded the skins in half (except the bear head). Waited 24 hrs. Or so then let dry open. Looks better and feels better. Not noxious at all. I was worried about the smell but I was able to work with it in my bedroom and I didn't die. Overall, 5 out of four lights. I'm glad I bought it and I can't wait to experiment with it more.

Perfect tan
This was so easy to use! I tanned a deer hide. Came out great.made shoes for the granddaughter with the hide. Definitely buying again for next season
