Skeptic to Believer!
I was skeptical when I was shopping and reading the product details. There were 3 concerns : 1. suction cup 2.magnets holding power. and 3. conventional dash mountingAfter receiving the product and using, I am absolutely a fan of this item.I've had GPS units mounted on my windshield and always had to fight with the darn thing falling off. This design is absolutely the solution. The suction is a "sticky slime ball" type material. You remember those 25 cent toys you get in the vending machine that you throw against the wall and it sticks but doesn't leave residue? it's the same type but much more durable.I feel the suction itself is enough to hold it onto the windshield, but the goose neck design allows this unit to be bent to fit any vehicle dashboard design. The base unit clamps and supports the gooseneck, which allows the arm to rest and stabilize while you drive. My biggest concern was the magnet's strength vs heavier phones gps units. To my surprise, the magnet mount section actually has a rubbery prices that helps prevents the units from sliding. The magnet is strong enough to hold any cellphone in place.

This is a great option, exactly what I was looking for
This is a great option, exactly what I was looking for! It does not stick to anything but my windshield, which is why the 4-star rating. However, it may work for you as my dash is textured. Other than that, the arm is very sturdy and the magnet holds my iPhone 6+ with no problem. It comes with several magnets, you can magnetize several devices. I can use my iPad mini now in the car if I wanted to. I would buy this again!

Good thought, poorly built
If you have an oversized phone like me (iPhone 6s plus with lifeproof case) then don't buy this mount. Every way I tried to configure it, I could not get the phone to be stable. It vibrated around the whole drive. ALSO, the magnetic piece that comes with it is slightly loose inside the case and will constantly let your phone turn like 5 degrees either way. May not seem like much but it drove me insane looking over at my phone for directions and it's tilted ever so slightly every time. I tried to tighten it but it's impossible. I'm not referring to the screw on the back I mean the actual magnetic piece, so there is no way to tighten.ALSO, the support that rests on your dash is not secured by anything, and it does not have a ruff or sticky surface on it to stop it from sliding. The air vent that come with it is solid, the only flaw is the same magnetic piece you use for the arm is the one for the air vent clip. So it tilts too.

I love everything about it
I love everything about it, but I don't trust the magnet part. It holds the phone in place very well, but when i attach my LG Stylo II the screen blanks out for a second. I love the long arm attachment so much I actually bought another whole set up just so I could get the clamp type attachment. Great product for the contractor with a mid to large truck, I just didn't trust the magnet.

Solid mount arm, solid magnets, flimsy magnetic swivel head
Magnets are strong and the mount holds the phone rather securely, but the magnet base had to be epoxied to keep it from swiveling on its own. The rubber face is not securely attached to the body of the swivel head, and as such has a shaky and loose fit. Also, why bother including the vent clip if you don't include another magnetic swivel head? That said, holds an LG G4 just fine over bumpy roads in a sporty car.

Could be better, but I've already tried worse.
Purchased this for my wife as a replacement for several other phone mounts that all sucked. While this one seems to be lasting the longest, the magnet is weak and we needed to put a metal plate on the outside of her phone case to get the to stick without sliding off. The arm the runs from the window suction cup to the magnet mount is also weak. It bends all over, which it is supposed to do, but it's too weak and bends all over hell whenever you turn. It actually threw the phone off and across the dash last week. I just used some double sided tape to stick the arm to the dash and we'll see how long that holds. It can work, but don't buy this thing unless you need a minor engineering project to fill your spare time.

Stability for big Smart Phones
So far so Good. Love the stability even with my Galaxy Note 5 which is a larger phone. Magnet could be a bit stronger but it does keep phone in place. Would by another.

unstable stand
I'm using this for uber and its important that the stand doesn't move around for me to concentrate on my driving. I thought because the stand had two places to hold onto that it would be secure but it still moves around a lot
