The Communist's Daughter: A 'remarkably powerful' novel set in East Berlin

Semi-documentary tale about a Basque family fleeing to East Berlin from the Spanish Civil War.The details of day to day life in East Berlin were vividly portrayed and Katia's flight to the West proves devastating for the family she left behind.A good read for those interested in the period.

Although the story is well thought though, it ia but a short novel. You could have made a really thick pageturner of it, but no....it isn't. Just for people, who do not love to read much.
