My dog is a really fast eater. She used to eat a little over a cup in less than a minute. I bought this slow feeder to deter this and it has worked wonders! My dog would eat so fast that it would make her burp periodically after eating and sometimes make her sick. This has helped tremendously with these issues. The star design is fantastic for the placement of the food. I have used the rose design of slow feeder bowls and they are a little more frustrating to put large kibble chunks into. This bowl also sits into a food bowl stand that I purchased on Amazon that makes it more enjoyable. The other slow feeders have a huge bottom and are unable to fit into the elevated stand. I like that the material is a durable plastic so that the bowl does not get destroyed as easily.

Like a 8/10I really like the puzzle pattern of this bowl, it definitely slows down my always hungry lab which means it serves it's purpose! It holds her portion of the meal with toppers well and it allows for liquid too.The only drawback (which thinking about it is probably my fault) is that the bowl itself is very light in weight, I didn't buy the stand with it thinking that it would be fine and the bowl also has non slip pads on the bottom BUT my 28kg lab does manage to move it with her snout while eating and has almost knocked it fully over because of excitement. Might add some small weights to the bottom to solve that issue
